Equal parts hip lounge and casual restaurant, the Blarney Stone provides Dorchester residents with one of the neighborhood's most contemporary haunts. The interior's exposed brick walls and high ceilings provide plenty of atmosphere. Pear martinis and pints of Guinness share table space with grilled lamb skewers and plates of baked rigatoni. Dorchester's only outdoor bar beckons during summertime.

Feels more like Boston than Dorchester...but hardly an Irish pub!

This was a great place. Nice atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff...however, I wouldn't recommend the steak salad. Meat wasn't trimmed of fat and carmelized onions were out of place in a salad. Everyone else loved their meal though and the place was just nice.

Limited parking and dicey neighborhood were the only drawbacks.

Best Mood Changer

I have to say the Blarney Stone is the best place to get away, go on a date, go with friends or by yourself.

The people there are all friendly and carefree. The staff were just as great as the customers. I think the Bar Tenders really put it over the edge. They are all funny, intelligant and very approachable and friendly. If you don't know how to have a good time they really teach you. They change your mood completely. The food is great. Casual lunch with friends or office. Tastey dinners for all. Top DJ's and bands. I go there all the time and if you have a friendly attitude I highly recomend the Blarney stone. PS the set up is cool and exciting.

• Pros: Friendly atmosphere, one min walk to T, small and relaxing
• Cons: Not enough parking, out of place on Dorch, closes at 1am
