I just read the other review (low Class). It is funny because I went in there and had a very simular expirence. Customer service is an extremly important part of any business and cherished possessions definitly lacked them. Five years ago it was owned by different owners and was completly different. I see many christmas tree items there outragously priced. It is too bad you can't find bargains anymore.

Pros: Good parking

Cons: Lack of helpful employees!

I have consigned several items at cherished possessions. They sold my items for a lower price than the agreement. When I went to talk to the owners a very young girl claiming to be the assistant manager was not helpful. In the past couple of years I have seen many very nice employees leave suddenly. I wonder why? It's too bad that what once was a fun place to shop now has only high priced items and an unwelcome environment!

Pros: Can not think of any

Cons: Where do I begin

I was visiting the local South Portland shops recently, and I came across the BEST consignment store! I wish I lived there, I would have bought more items, especially furniture. My college age son could have furnished his whole house on a college budget. Everything was clean and priced to sell, and the young lady that helped me was very friendly. I bought myself some wonderful vintage jewelry and a great lamp. I will be sure to visit there again, next time I am in town. Just leave me some of the treasures!!

Pros: Great items, friendly staff

Cons: If the store were bigger, they could hold more items!

I think Cherished Possessions is the best consignment store in Maine! It is very clean and the items are displayed well. The day I bought furniture three guys working there offered to help me carry stuff out to my car. They were very pleasant and friendly as were the the other staff who assisted me. I have been shopping and consigning there for years and feel the new owners who bought the store four years ago have made wonderful changes and the store is even better than ever! They are very particular about their consignments and go through to make sure they don't carry low value items such as stuff from Christmas Tree Shop. I love it!

Pros: Huge store, parking, great prices

Cons: none!

Cherished Possessions used to be a great place to fine quality items at bargain prices.....NOT ANY MORE! Add to this the less than helpful employees when one wants to load her $500 purchase in her car and you have a doubtful pleasant experience. ADVICE.......don't break your neck to get there, but if you happen to be in the area......stop in.......YOU MIGHT GET LUCKY.......just be prepared to get that big item in your car ALONE or be prepared to listen to the negative flack!

Unfortunately the original owners sold to some new folks and they've brought in lots of chipped and damaged stuff, much from the Christmas Tree Shop frankly, all on consignment yet they are putting unbelievably high prices on everything. It's too bad. I used to go there on a Saturday and spend hundreds, now I can't find a thing and if I do it's priced unrealistically. I've been going there for years and there is one staff person I see each week and she still doesn't know me and asks for my drivers license when I do a check!

Pros: good parking, take charge cards

Cons: poor quality, high prices, some unfriendly staff
