I lived in Plainville for 6 years and South Liquor Mart was right around the corner from me, but we only went there if Plainville Liquors, which was about a mile from me, was closed. The only positive thing I can say about the store is there is plenty of parking. Other than that, their prices are extremely high; I could never find the kinds of beers that I buy; there are no prices on any of the beers, no signs with prices; no price listings- you have to ask for each one, and the staff never knows- they have to go check. Some of the staff is helpful- it depends on who is working.

Pros: Plenty of parking

Cons: High prices; poor selection of beer; no price listings or price signs; staff doesn't know the prices

I'm a beer lover. And not just Bud or your typical domestic water. I've been brewing my own for the past 5 years and enjoy the hoppy beers from Dog Fish Head and Craft brews. I've been living in the area for the past 20 years and never once considered this place to have the selection of beer. I was BLOWN AWAY. I stopped by to pick something up for a party over the weekend and was simply astonished by the LONG AISLE of different beer. They even have Cantillion, Unibrou, Lambics and ones that I have not seen in any liquor store. You can not have a selection like theirs without a knowledgeable person. Any store can bring it in, but you need someone that knows their beer. They have the people, the beer and I'm in LOVE. This is my new All Time Favorite store!!!

I purposely ordered an ice luge three days before New Year's to enusre I would have one, I called three times to ask when I should come and pick it up, and I was told anytime before closing. I get three people with me, and a truck because after all we are picking up an ice luge. I get to the counter, tell them I ordered an ice luge, here is my receipt, and they tell me, um we dont have any ice luges left. Excuse me, its New Year's Eve, I ordered this three days ago and was ensured an ice luge. Absolutely NOTHING, not even im sorry. They were so uncaring, like it was my fault they messed up. They gave me nothing, but said I can give you your money back. I would never go here again.

Great customer service and great selection! Every time I go there they treat me like family. Also almost all the time time they have free beer or wine for customers to try. It is the only liquor store i go to! I highly recommend South Liquor Mart!

Pros: great location, always parking, and wonderful staff!

This place is so friendly! They've got stuff packed to the walls! If they don't have something you want, ask and they'll order it for you! It's an easy place to frequent. The staff makes you feel right at home!

Pros: ample parking, vast selection of products always in stock

Cons: They make you want to go there far too often!

In town visiting the in-laws from San Fran and rarely do I find any wine shop in the area that carries any sort of a selection. I was surprised and extremely excited when I came across this place by chance. The old cliche, don't judge a book by its cover ABSOLUTELY applies here. I didn't expect much so when I browsed the wine room and spoke with their on-site wine manager I was in heaven. They had my favorites from Napa as well as several fall backs from New Zealand and Chile. I understand they are tearing down the current building and expanding to something much bigger than a wine shop. I can't wait for my next visit. Well done gents.

For a quiet town like Plainville, I was truly amazed by the selection in wine, beer, and scotch that was available. I happened by while on the way to the Wrentham outlets, and was glad that I went in. They plan an extensive renovation, which should really put this place on the map for people who are shopping in the area. I highly recommend a visit.

I've been thru the area several times over the years and South Mart has really improved its selection and customer service. I plan on doing all mine wine selections there from now on as the ownership is extremely knowledgable and recommend some great wines to me. I'm glad this area has finally got a real wine store with really educated owners.

South Liquor Mart is an excellent wine and spirits destination. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised to find such a special and unique place outside of the metro Boston area. It's obvious that the owners are highly sophisticated oenophiles given the excellent selection of highly sought-after wines. They have a great assortment of distinct California wines. The staff was very helpful and polite. What a delightful experience to patronize South Liquor Mart!
