This restaurant is by far my favorite sushi joint in all of boston area. They have a selection of about 40 or so special maki rolls (which are my favorite) and they are all unique, creative -yet very tasty -rolls. There is always something new to try! You can't beat the prices, and the fish is fresh. I have been to practically every sushi restaurant in boston and I have to say this is the best sushi and for a heck of a lot cheaper than the expensive sushi restaurants downtown. The place is very casual, with a very simple atmosphere which is their only negative aspect. If this place had a hipper atmosphere and was located downtown, this would be known as the best sushi restaurant in boston. I highly recommend it!
Pros: menu selection, maki rolls
Cons: atmosphere

I went to Yasu and ordered some sushi and maki with 2 friends and We all had terrible stomach pains shortly afterwards. I wouldn't complain if it was just me who had problems, but all of us got sick. I am not riding off sushi, because I Love the stuff, but I am definatly not going back to Yasu for anything raw.
Cons: Food made me sick

I went to Yasu Sushi in Waltham the other day and I have to say it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. I own a restaurant and I eat out quite often, so I know how both sides of the business works, but never have I been in such a terrible situation that I felt I needed to write a review online to let others know of such poor service. We ordered the Sushi Pizza and halfway through our meal my boyfriend has a sour face on and holds his cheek as if his tooth cracked. He then spits out a quarter sized chewed up piece of ALUMINUM FOIL! The aluminum foil was stuck underneath the sushi pizza and he had been chewing on it with his capped teeth. We discreetly told the waitress about the aluminum foil so other customers do not noticeto be considerate, but they did not even apologize. Our waitress simply says, 'Oh that's from the oven. Sometimes aluminum foil sticks to the food.' She said this in such a nonchalant and unapologetically way it was as if this kind of thing happened frequently. We lost our appetite and left our remaining food as it was expecting a manager to come with some kind of apology, or alternative to our meal but no one came. As our waitress gives us our check she states that the sushi pizza was not put on the bill in such a way that we should be thankful they did not charge us for inedible food. We left with my boyfriend's tooth aching but then we realize there is permanant damage on his gold cap tooth so we go back to speak with the owner. Let's just say we were left with a forced apology, a dented capped tooth, and we were out $33(including tip, yes we even tipped) I will never go to Yasu Sushi again, and I don't suggest anyone else go unless they want to deal with terrible service and business owners who do not care about their paying customers.
Pros: NONE
Cons: Inedible items found in food, Terrible customer service, Owner does not care about customers

I believed that was the best Japanese restraunt in town after changing the owner. The stuff is friendly and price is ok, especially for its "All you can". Ususally i was there for lunch, and also recomment its lunch box. good price and nice food. I will go there often and hope your guys enjoy its sushi and kichen Korean and Thai food too.

I guess I was expecting more after reading the previous reviews. The staff was friendly, but I couldn't get over the bad Spanish music and bright white flourescent lighting. The sushi was good, but the pieces were a little small. Overall, I would go there again if I was in the neighborhood, but wouldn't go out of my way to find it.

Excellent food, and Sevice! Yasa is an amazing and creative Japenese Sushi Chef. The menu is just the foundation of what Yasu is capable of making when it comes to sushi and maki. He is capable of handling the most unusual requests of the customer and very happy to do so. A chef who finds the time to hand-pick his own fish from the market, while maintaining the hours of operation that he does, is very rare and that is what you will find this japenese dining experience to be at Restaurant Yasu!
Pros: Great Food-Yasa Roll!, Very Fresh Fish, Excellent Service
Cons: Sunday Lunch N/A
