The office is beautiful and the office seems organized. Considering an area prone by pyramid scheming agents, which feed off the local college students the boutique is top class. However, my broker was a complete daft. He didn't make me a copy of the lease, took days to respond to my phone calls, whined when I told him my availability, offered no advice or guidance, had no general acumen in treating people as clients and was generally immature. All that for a 2000 broker's fee!

If you are looking for a realtor who will provide you with outstanding service, I would highly recommend Michael of Metro Realty. My wife and I were planning on moving to Boston from another city. We were skeptical of how we would find a home which fit into our specific needs from so far away. However, once we contacted Michael our worries were gone. He spent many hours with us on the phone determining our desires and offering us a ton of advice along the way. He was extremely familiar with all the neighborhoods of Boston and was able to direct us towards the once that would be the most desirable for us. We scheduled a weekend to come out to Boston to look at some homes we had chosen through Michael's daily updates he would send us over email and through his website. Again, we were unsure of how hectic this weekend would be, but Michael made everything run very smoothly. He picked us up where we were staying, 30 minutes outside of Boston, and then proceeded to show us about 15 homes aorund Boston over 2 days. He had the days very organized and worked with us to help us find our perfect home....which we did! More importantly, I was admitted to the hospital over that weekend, so he traveled 30 minutes to the hospital multiple times so we could sign all the documents. He was amazing through the entire process. Therefore, if you want a realtor who knows Boston and the surrounding suburbs, will work with you like a part of the family, be available for you any time you want , and always make you feel like you are his only priority, Michael at Metro Realty is who you should contact.
Pros: Honest, friendly, respectful, professional, and importantly, they get you what you want!
Cons: Are you kidding---they are fabulous!!!

As a first-time homebuyer, I was apprehensive about navigating the real estate waters. All I ever heard from others, was what a "nightmare" home buying can be. Michael Pallares is someone I've gotten to know fairly well over the past few years as he was a client of mine. The tables were turned when I decided that for a first-time home purchase, it was to my advantage to "work with what and who you know." Because of this advantage over most, I can whole-heartedly support the many positive reviews of Michael on this site. I've come to know Michael to be a most articulate, well-mannered, and knowledgeable person. He is someone that truly enjoys his chosen career and that in of itself, separates him from the pack. I tend to feel that (and I realize I may be generalizing here) many real estate agents view home selling as a business transaction only. Michael is actively involved and treats it more like a team "road trip," stopping along the way to explain what I may expect to take place at any point on the "drive" to my new home. He views clients as an opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with them. His patience over the course of 5 months is remarkable. Even I was becoming convinced that what I was looking for didn't exist out there in the price range I was most comfortable with. His ability to synthesis the parameters of what I was looking for in a first new home was solid. Based on what I told him I was looking for, how I wanted to approach the search for a new home, Michael catered the search to my needs. Michael's deep professional network (lending companies, banks, attorneys, home inspectors, area businesses, etc) made it so much easier for me to get in touch with resources I needed. Because he only works with people that he himself would (or has done) business with, you know you are getting a trusted recommendation! Calling Michael @ Metro will be the best thing you can do for yourself when you are ready to shop for a new home.
Pros: Personable team player. Wants you to get the best investment dollar for your home.
Cons: NONE

I like to echo the comment about dishonesty. Although being an agent is a tough job and require some flexibility, my experience with them has been very unpleasant. My calls were often ignored and when I was on vacation, certain actions were taken without my consent or best interest. I would stay away from these guys like a plague.
Pros: Great office in good location
Cons: Everything else

Michael helped me find a lovely new townhouse condo, despite the extremely limited window I had with which to find a home to buy. Michael responded immediately to my initial inquiry, we spoke soon thereafter and he "got" what it was I needed and wanted, then he emailed potential properties for me to consider more quickly than I would have thought possible. When I flew into town he met me at the airport, with water and snacks at the ready. Because of my time constraints and other demands, this could have been a very stressful experience--especially when we throw into this mix the fact that this was my first home purchase ever. However, it went off incredibly smoothly and without a hitch, because Michael was coordinating all involved parties and made everything seem quite easy. Give him a call--you'll be happy you did.
Pros: Service, knowledge, immediate grasp of what I wanted.
Cons: None

I recently purchased a condo with the help of Michael Pallares at Metro Realty. His expertise, professionalism, knowledge, and experience were clear from the first day I met with him. Michael took the time to listen to what I wanted in a property and select the ones that fit my description. The first day we met to look at condos, Michael took extra time (about a half hour) to sit with me and talk me through the process of looking for, financing, purchasing, and closing on a new home. Being a first-time homebuyer, this was a breath of fresh air that helped make this process enjoyable and educational. Michael works tirelessly to be an advocate for his clients, no matter how long the process takes. He does not want his clients buying a property unless it is a good fit. Once I settled on the condo I wanted, Michael was involved from beginning to even past the closing, helping me figure out even the smallest details. Knowing how busy my schedule was, Michael took the time to make phone calls on my behalf to the sellers, mortgage brokers, and other people in order to make the process go smoothly. Perhaps the highest praise I can give Michael is that I have already referred friends to him, telling them that they simply MUST use him when they look for a new place in Boston. Michael continues to email me or call to check how my move is going and to see if I need any other help. I can't think of many people who can claim that they will stay in touch with their realtor after they have already moved, but I will do exactly that with Michael. If you are moving to Boston, and are looking to buy a new home, your first and only call should be to Michael Pallares at Metro Realty.
Pros: Professional, courteous, responsive, available, knowledgeable
Cons: None

I liked using Metro Realty. Josh was very helpful and professional. I would recommend them to anyone looking for apartments in Boston. They have been the best company to work with so far, and I have previously used First Choice Realty, NextGen Realty, Jacob Realty and Modern Realty and have had a least a few problems with each. Metro was professional and caused no problems and helped us move in within a week. Use them or get screwed over...
Pros: no realtors fee at our apartment, professional, no lying involved
Cons: the apartment we ended up with was more than i wanted to pay, but well worth it. they only show the best.

I had been looking for apartments online and was having no luck so I decided to go with a broker. I found Metro Realty on city search and decided to give it a try. It was the best decision I could have made. I found the apartment of my dreams just after seeing one other apartment. The staff at Metro Realty have a good read on their clients and can quickly tell what they are looking for. Also, the staff at Metro are extremely friendly and accommodating. They will stay late or come early to show you your apartment or sign papers. I would highly recommend Metro Realty and I would definetely use them again!!
Pros: A friendly informative staff!
Cons: none

For people familiar with finding an apartment in the Boston area, you know the process of seeing the same bad apartments over and over again with the often shady and pushy real estate agent you can't wait to get away from. This is why when I decided to move to Brookline, I was so happy to find Cari at Metro Realty. She was very professional and personable, asked me the right questions to narrow down what I was looking for and showed me the kind of apartments that I was hoping to see. She really worked to find me a place that suited both my needs and my budget and made the process easy and fun. Highly recommended!
Pros: professional agents and great selection
Cons: None for me

There is one realtor who I've recently had to deal with here who has acted rashly, dishonestly, unfairly, and vindictively. I would be wary of any dealings with this particular person and the firm in general. I was not a client of the firm, but they were helping to fill an apartment I'd recently vacated. They acted without my permission in advertising the incentives I was willing to offer to new tenants. This person wrote a vindictive note about me to the landlord which was unwarranted and untrue. There is poor communication within the firm and they acted obviously with little care about their own reputation as a fair and independent realtor.
Pros: I would never ever deal with this firm again.
Cons: There is one realtor at this firm who is dishonest and vindictive
