So i FINALLY went to see what all the fuss was about. Ok So now that im on city search I can leave this review. I DONT GET IT!!! What is the big deal about this place?? Ok the food tastes good but guess what, if you gave me a million dollars I couldnt tell you the difference between Chipotle and Anna's . I guess if there is no Chipotle around Anna's is a good sub, and vice versa but for all I heard about this place i just thought it was ok/good.

Am I missing something?. I don't get why everyone loves Anna's. While their prices are cheap, I don't think that they even remotely resemble authentic Mexican food. On top of which, their service is completely inconsistent. Sometimes I can get my burrito pressed and sometimes they say they don't do that. Their hot sauce can vary from super spicy to completely mild. While it a fast and cheap place to grab a bite, I am just not impressed with Anna's at all.

good food, overcharges, questionable employees.. food is pretty good, way better than taco hell. got overcharged at the somerville location they said sour creme additional .50 on a super burrito, whatever i thought..... few days later go to the one in porter square where sure they were playing authentic mexican rap music with swearing and all in spanish. some of us other folk know the bad words too and its not very professional.

saw a big line so i asked to pay and told her what i ordered. turned out to be like $5.30 for a super burrito, fine, plunked down $6 waiting for change while they finished making it. they put it in the bag next to register and i look over again and the lady wanted like $7.06 saying rice and beans were extra. rather than start an argument, because i then noticed from my police work in lynn, she had one of those tattoos of a teardrop from her eye (when a member of the same gang gets killed) i just paid it. if you are mexican you probably wouldnt want a cashier with a telltale gang tattoo/symbol handling the cash, that is unless the money is going somewhere.....

in summation:

1) GOOD food

2) WILL overcharge

3) questionable where the money is going

#3 = im not ever going back to one. the last thing i want to do is have even a %1 doubt im funding something illicit.

Very unappealing food. Apparently, this site will not let honest reviews through their filter. My first attempt was rejected, as there are apparently words describing certain of this planet's creatures that are not allowed here. Even though, please note, the expererience I am describing here is 100% true and accurate. So, read between the lines on your own.

Today, went to Anna's & ordered food to take home. At home, we'd opened a container of their quacamole and were eating it with chips when we saw an an entire whole and very large brown thing with lots of legs in the guacamole. So, I took all the food and went back to Anna's. Not only did they not apologize, but actually had the nerve to offer to replace the guacamole!!! As if we'd want another serving from the same place that guacamole came from... When I refused this offer, they finally, reluctantly gave me my money back, but only after painstakingly checking their cash register tape to make sure they had a receipt that matched up with what I had in my bag- gee, good thing I remembered to throw it all in, since I was so very calm after having such a pleasant experience. Definitely do not recommend this place.

Best Taqueria ever!. There is nowhere else that will serve up such large portions of delicious food for prices so low! I don't live in Boston anymore, so I have to eat at extremely second-rate Qdoba if I want a burrito. But every time I go and visit Boston, I have to stop at Anna's. My favorite is the al-pastor burrito! And I love the staff. They are so fast, I almost feel like I'm slowing them down by ordering! I also love the lemonade- refreshing and delicious. This is by far my favorite cheap food place in Boston, if not the whole East Coast.

SERVICE is Rude. Found hair in my Burrito and was overchaged. I WAS a loyal customer that put up with the bad service (3yrs)but the hair in my food was just too GROSS to go back again!!!

Great burritos - quick moving lines even at lunch hour. I have to disagree with the two reviewers below me. I've never (and this is on a weekly basis over five years) had the servers make a burrito without consulting me for my choices. You must speak loudly and be sure of your order before being called on but they are receptive to your requests. Efficiency should not be mistaken for carelessness or impatience. Anna's offers a good size meal for a great price (sidebar: cash only is a nuisance at times) and just like anywhere else in the city, you will be charged for additions to your meal. I don't know who these people are that expect freebies in a city like Boston. Try the chips and guacamole - the guac is fresh and has little chunks of tomato and is really good. I have a Boloco down the street and a Chipotle soon to open nearby, and having eaten at both of those I still drive the 10 minutes to Annas.

Go anywhere else for a burrito!!!!!. Do yourself a favor and go to Boca Grande instead. Anna's is not good in any way... period. I went to Anna's last night in Davis Square and was not impressed at all. First of all, the service was really really bad. When I got to the counter, rather than wait for me to order, they asked if I wanted a Burrito and I said yes. Well, before even saying what kind, they had already made it and began folding it. I asked them to unfold it because they had made something I didn't want and then, after putting in the correct meat that I wanted, didn't wait for me to tell them that I wanted hot sauce. (and I don't talk slowly... he just didn't care to listen). Basically, they kept folding it before I had even listed the ingredients I wanted. I never even got the guacamole I wanted (didn't feel like asking the counter person to unfold it for a 3rd time!) And charging extra for things like sour cream seems ridiculous. I mean, what's a burrito without the proper ingredients????? And it was so hastily folded, that it fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Granted there was a line behind me, but if quality is sacrificed for speediness, what's the point of even eating there??? You can get much better cheap burritos in Boston just about anywhere else. Boca Grande, El Pelon (by Fenway), and even places like Q'doba and Chipolte will give you a better burrito. I know there is a loyal Anna's following, but after my experience, I don't know how. I have lived here all my life, tried Anna's for the first time, and will never go back.
