There is nowhere else that will serve up such large portions of delicious food for prices so low! I don't live in Boston anymore, so I have to eat at extremely second-rate Qdoba if I want a burrito. But every time I go and visit Boston, I have to stop at Anna's. My favorite is the al-pastor burrito! And I love the staff. They are so fast, I almost feel like I'm slowing them down by ordering! I also love the lemonade- refreshing and delicious. This is by far my favorite cheap food place in Boston, if not the whole East Coast.
Pros: Food, service, long lines move quickly, cheap
Cons: none!

Found hair in my Burrito and was overchaged. I WAS a loyal customer that put up with the bad service (3yrs)but the hair in my food was just too GROSS to go back again!!!
Pros: food is good
Cons: Service stinks!!

I have to disagree with the two reviewers below me. I've never (and this is on a weekly basis over five years) had the servers make a burrito without consulting me for my choices. You must speak loudly and be sure of your order before being called on but they are receptive to your requests. Efficiency should not be mistaken for carelessness or impatience. Anna's offers a good size meal for a great price (sidebar: cash only is a nuisance at times) and just like anywhere else in the city, you will be charged for additions to your meal. I don't know who these people are that expect freebies in a city like Boston. Try the chips and guacamole - the guac is fresh and has little chunks of tomato and is really good. I have a Boloco down the street and a Chipotle soon to open nearby, and having eaten at both of those I still drive the 10 minutes to Annas.
Pros: Quick service
Cons: Cash only

Do yourself a favor and go to Boca Grande instead. Anna's is not good in any way... period. I went to Anna's last night in Davis Square and was not impressed at all. First of all, the service was really really bad. When I got to the counter, rather than wait for me to order, they asked if I wanted a Burrito and I said yes. Well, before even saying what kind, they had already made it and began folding it. I asked them to unfold it because they had made something I didn't want and then, after putting in the correct meat that I wanted, didn't wait for me to tell them that I wanted hot sauce. (and I don't talk slowly... he just didn't care to listen). Basically, they kept folding it before I had even listed the ingredients I wanted. I never even got the guacamole I wanted (didn't feel like asking the counter person to unfold it for a 3rd time!) And charging extra for things like sour cream seems ridiculous. I mean, what's a burrito without the proper ingredients????? And it was so hastily folded, that it fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Granted there was a line behind me, but if quality is sacrificed for speediness, what's the point of even eating there??? You can get much better cheap burritos in Boston just about anywhere else. Boca Grande, El Pelon (by Fenway), and even places like Q'doba and Chipolte will give you a better burrito. I know there is a loyal Anna's following, but after my experience, I don't know how. I have lived here all my life, tried Anna's for the first time, and will never go back.
Pros: The fountain drink was okay.
Cons: Everything else

A few friends of ours recently insisted that we must try Anna's Taqueria in Brookline, MA. What a mistake! The food was seriously some of the worst I've ever had! I ordered two soft tacos and they were horrible....the tortilla was soggy, the meat and seasonings were tasteless and the veggies were way overcooked! Even if it is cheap, in my book it still has to be good. And the service was atrocious as well..nobody even spoke any english! In my opinion, Moe's Southwestern Grill needs to open up a location and show Bostonians what good Mexican food (especially burritos) tastes like. It boggles my mind that Anna's continually wins best mexican/burrito year after year in polls taken by Boston Magazines. Is it just because there aren't any other places to have mexican food? I'm not the only one who feels this way, many of my friends think anna's is horrible too.
Pros: None!
Cons: Everything!

I don't care what anyone says Anna's Burritos are pure happiness. I got hooked on Anna's 2 years ago when I worked in Somerville. The toughest part about taking on a promotion was not being able to have the best burrito I have ever had everyday for lunch. The quesadilla is pretty good too, very filling. Also top it off with a taco el pastor with a hint of lime. Thank you Anna's Taqueria!!!
Pros: Quantity, flavor, fast, inexpensive
Cons: I wish there was an Anna's closer to me - Route 1 : )

Anna's is a tasty and cheap spot to grab a burrito. I always get a Carnitas (shredded pork) Burrito w/ cheese, rice&beans, salsa, and guacamole. You can also add verde hot sauce, sour cream, or lettuce. There are also the usual meat options as well as a veggie option but, if you eat pork- definitely try the carnitas! It takes a couple times to get down how to order there, many workers speak little english, but if you are polite and clear you will have no trouble ordering. Yes- They will first ask what size and type of burrito you want, then if you want cheese (then the tortilla is steamed and handed off to another person) then they'll ask if you want rice& beans, then tell them if you want the other extras. Piece of cake, err burrito. Only downside is that they only accept cash. But all around, I love Anna's and I'm thinking of going tonight!
Pros: Cheap, tasty carnitas burritos!
Cons: Cash only.

I'm originally from San Francisco and I love food like no other. Also, I'm not a picky person when it comes to food. However, now that I've moved to Boston, I've become a much pickier eater seeing as food isn't so great here. And might I add to the list of bad restaurants... Anna's Taqueria. Here, food is cheap which is a plus. However, in looking at the portions, the food isn't worth one cent. Why is it that a burrito at Anna's can be held in one hand? A true burrito from a true taqueria should be very large in size. You must hold it with two hands and eat around it because of its great size. Why do the workers at Anna's have to ask you what to put in your order? At any true taqueria, a true mexican order comes with every indgredient unless you tell the worker not to put it. It should always be expected that every indgredient go into a mexican plate... if not, it's not mexican. Basically, I do not recommend Anna's Taqueria. It is not a real taqueria, nor does it have real mexican food.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Portion Size, Service, Food

The menu is very simple but very tasty. The guys behind the counter are like lightening. The prices are inexpensive so you can certainly make it a regular meal. I like the fact that everything is made to order.
Pros: fast service, fresh food, and good prices for everyday meal
Cons: seating is sometimes hard to find
