Best Sushi Around

I love Minato Sushi. The staff is very pleasant and friendly, and the sushi is always top notch. I go there semi-regularly, but they always remember me, and say hello when I come in, and that goes a long way. The occasional free cup of ginger ice cream doesn't hurt either. I feel lucky to have this place close by, and if I ever leave Brookline, I'm going to miss them.

• Pros: Inexpensive, but excellent sushi
• Cons: Not a very big place, so I usually get it to go.

Minato sushi is the best place to get sushi. The sushi and makis are great. They have a lot of special makis. They also have a discount every Tuesday! Always come here!

Seriously great sushi

I headed out going out for takeout last night, but never took it home. I was greated by friendly smiling faces, and sat down to look through the menu and was treated to hot tea and miso soup. So I decided I'd eat there. I made a great decision! The sushi was fantastic! I had the mango sake maki and a Shocking Maki. Both were delicious. I will definitely be coming back. It may not have all the decor of some sushi restaurants that I've been to, but the customer service definitely made me feel at home.

This place has the best service and the owner makes amazine sushi! I'm vegetarian and go the best oshinko and avocado roll... It's warm and inviting- I'm definitely coming back!

Best Sushi place i every went to in brookline!

I am a fan of this place. i come here almost weekly. This place offer great sushi and the new owner is really kind. I love the sashimi in this place. Minato sushi have a lot of room and really comfortable. Every since the owner changed i found this place as my new sushi place. They also offer a 15% discound in tusdays

They changed ownership again! Warm sushi!

So this place used to be a great place for quick affordable sushi. In the end of 2007 they changed ownership again and since then quality has gone down the hill. Sushi is warm now. It's not sanitary to keep fish warm. Go next door to super fusion. More $$ but high restaurant quality sushi.

With only a few seats inside and no decor to speak of, Minato caters mostly to the take-out and delivery crowd. Bargain-minded customers save their sushi fixes for Tuesdays, when all food orders are 15% off. Beyond the straightforward menu of fresh sushi, standard Japanese dishes (chicken teriyaki, udon noodles and fried rice) are also available.

Quality, inexpensive sushi fast

My boyfriend came here and ordered their awesome lunch special (3 maki for under 9 bucks). We were the only ones eating lunch and so when we ordered some nigiri afterwards the chef also povided us with an amazing octopus salad.

We've been back many times since and always had attentive, polite service as well as fresh food.

I've been to A LOT of sushi in the city and I really feel like this place is a hidden gem.

• Pros: Fresh food, awesome service, great value
• Cons: Not open after 330pm until dinner

Horrible food DO NOT recommend

The food was absolutely horrible and tasteless. Delivery took two hours and was not even to the front door. The driver had me come downstairs and wait in the cold!!! The spicy tuna tempura was not spicy and was soggy not to mention that we didn't even order spicy tuna tempura we ordered shrimp tempura. When we called to inform them of this they didn't offer to help they said "Try it, it's good." Sorry but it really isn't. To top it all off they didn't give us any wasabi and only two packets of soy sauce for three orders of sushi. I do not recommend this restuarant it has to be one of the worst in Boston.

I go to BC and am greatful that Minato Sushi actually delivers to us. The portions are pretty good and not as expensive as other sushi restaurants in the area. I recommend the the spicy tuna maki. It is not the prettiest place on the inside and I have had long delivery waits but the food is worth it. I definitely recommend Minato.
