very good food, decent service, terrible drinks
by redsox1974 at Citysearch
The food is really great, but most the food in Coolidge Corner is. This is better than most
HOWEVER: Not a place to drink: Only one of the 22 year old bartenders can make a drink to save her life (she has glasses and is the only one who looks like she ate dinner). They forget ingredients, don't know types (not brands) of alcohol and have no sence except that they are the boss; which works for them in this monopoly on the bar scene for an area desperately in need of another bar to replace 1 of the 20 failing sushi restaurants.
The other day my friend ordered a martini with a twist. Mind you, it was 60% sweet vermouth, the twist was a 1/3 of a lemon, meat and all dropped into the glass.
My advice; good ice tee or order a beer or something straight or on the rocks and make sure to say ice or you may end up slurping sidewalk.
- Pros: Wonderful kitchen; not a bad thing there
- Cons: Only one of the 22 year old bartenders can make a drink
Go there Monday Night
by FmrBostonian at Citysearch
The Monday night trivia is fantastic as the moderator keeps all contestants on their toes. Pretty much the entire bar participates. Great place to watch a game and the menu goes well after midnight. I attend a convention in Boston every year and always make it to the CCC for Monday.
- Pros: Trivia Mondays, Great Sports Atmosphere, Good Food
- Cons: It gets a little packed in
I love the CCC!

I've lived in Brookline for the past 4 years, and I have to say this place is one of my favorite places to hang out. There are so many tv's you can keep up with multiple games at the same time (like the Yanks and Sox). The food is sooo good, which can be surprising for a sports bar. I love to stop here after a night of drinking since the kitchen is open after 1am. There are so many draft beers to choose from, I get something different everytime I go. But don't worry if beer's not your thing - the marintis and cocktails are yummy too (and huge!) The Southern Lemonade is my personal favorite; I had never even heard of sweet tea vodka. The best part though, is the staff. They are so friendly, always ready to chat or help you decide on what to eat or drink. I see some negative reviews on this place, but it sounds to me like these people are just miserable with life - I've never had a bad experience here and would highly recommend it!
- Pros: Best Sports Bar In Town
- Cons: None!
best food and drinks in town
by CSMobileUser at Citysearch
I found the reason that this place has been in business for over 20 years. The value is tremendous. The drinks are huge and the food portions are huge. They keep there entire menu available until 115 am every night... Wow!!! The brunch on sat and sun is second to none. They have over 20 hi-def tvs. This place is great.
What a (unty horrible place.

So I roll into this dump late afternoon on a Saturday with a lady friend of mine. There are loads of tables open and the "hostess"(aka girl watching football while talking to you) tells us there is a ten minute wait. After about five of those minutes go by and I'm staring at all these empty tables i ask her why we can't have one of the empties. She says they are reserved for parties of 3 or more. I said are there reservations? She says no but since we are a small restaurant they are reserved for parties of three or more. I tell her that's not going to work and that we'll be taking one of those tables. We go and sit down and the manager comes over and asks if she can help us with something. I tell her I'd like some menus because we intend on eating there. She says the tables are reserved for parties of three or more and I say well there is no one else in this place its nearly dead and well past lunchtime and no one else is even coming there. The lady I was with asked me if we could go somewhere else, the horrible (unt of a manager followed us out of the door.
What is wrong with the manager???
by Ihatestupidpeople2 at Citysearch
This place is the most ungrateful unprofessional business I have ever witnessed. I just went there tonight with my friend, and we have been going there every other week if not every week. We in general have had great service and average bar food quality. Tonight we had one of the worse waitress and it wasn't the first time we encountered her. She was incredibly rude to us and basically threw the menu at us as well as the plates. I do not like to feel like I am bothering waiters... I am a customer and I am sorry if they are having a bad day but we all do at some point.
The manager came chasing us down the street to ask us about the reason of our unhappiness and was tremendously rude. She said we were the one being rude and that maybe this is not the right place for us to come and have dinner. What kind of manager does that??? I am in business and believe me this is NOT the way you treat customers. Especially when they are the ones being disrespected in the first place.
I am desperately looking for the name of the manager because obviously this manager was hired for a pretty face but certainly not for her big brain... I am quite influential locally and believe me, I will do everything in my power to make that manager go down, and if this place does not get better reviews, I hope that people will be going elsewhere.
As one of the other reviewer said, this place IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY OR INTEREST. It is a waste of space in Coolidge Corner which is such a nice and friendly area. You are better off going to Zaftig's or going down on Brookline Village to the Village Smokehouse. Much better service there...
I hope you people listen to all the bad reviews out there because they are all meant to protect you from having the bad upsetting experience I just had. Cheers to you all anywhere else but CCC!
- Pros: Menu variety
- Cons: Manager and service are HORRIBLE
Where Everybody Knows Your Name
by howsit at Citysearch
Everytime Ive gone into the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse, Ive been greeted with enthusiasm. From the friendly and accomodating barstaff, energetic servers, and often humorous chefs that can frequently be found engaged by the bar. This bar is extremely welcoming, and one gets the sense that the people who work here generally enjoy their jobs. Its a real treat. If you are looking for a riotous good time on any night of the week, I highly suggest this place. You will find well prepared comfort food at reasonable prices, and hands down the best lobster roll in town! (which I think is only served during baseball season). The 21 flat screen tvs allow you to watch your favorite games with constant dialogue. Come for sports, or just to relax, you will not be disappointed.
- Pros: Service, Selection, Price
- Cons: Bathrooms too small
Love it but rude hostess
by maroberts02 at Citysearch
I really enjoy the CCC. It's a great place to go for a beer after work and watch the game. I've never had food there I didn't like and they have some of the friendliest wait staff around. We do, however, seem to get consistently rude service from the hostess. Otherwise, I think it's great!
- Pros: Consistently good food.... good beer selection
- Cons: That one hostess...
Rude bartenders and an obnoxious trivia announcer...
by jamesil29 at Citysearch
The Coolidge Corner Clubhouse is a waste of your time and money - the bartenders are very rude to you. For example, I went there tonight and ordered a beer while waiting for my table. The beer was flat and I asked for a different beer. When the bartender served me the new beer, his words to me were "Will this probably do it for you?". At dinner the trivia announcer was so loud and obnoxious that we didn't enjoy our meals and could not even attempt a conversation. Go somewhere else - this place is worth avoiding.
