Enjoy the best of both worlds of ice-skating: outdoors on an artificial ice surface.

by Contributor at Citysearch

Overview
Here is a place to skate if you prefer breathing in fresh, crisp air instead of the stale and musty variety found in an indoor arena. And the ice quality at this charming, old-fashioned rink isn't sacrificed just because it's an outdoor facility. While not as consistently hard and smooth as what you'll find in most indoor rinks, this isn't a frozen pond either. Unless the weather is really unseasonably warm, you won't find too many cracks, bumps or slush spots on an artificial surface maintained by an ammonia/brine cooling system.

Features

There's more here than just a few benches to lace up the skates. If it's really cold outside, skaters can warm up in the Skating Pavilion. If you get hungry or thirsty, there's a snack bar. And if you need to rent skates or sharpen your blades, there's a skate shop.
