Britta is absolutlely amazing with color. I am very picky and she got my color exactly right. Not only is she talented, but she is also friendly and an pleasure to be around. I highly recommend Tintalations!!!!

I love this place! Tom is able to create the richest and most natural color always meeting my expectations. I wouldn't even think of going somewhere else!

Pros: convenient, great staff, frindly and efficient

Cons: Make appointments well ahead. They fill up a month ahead.

Tom and Anne are the best colorists in Boston and possess the expertise to make your hair color absolutely stunning. Don’t miss out on their foils...awesome...and they last. I’ve been going to Tintelations for almost 2 years (every 6 weeks) and I’m always guaranteed to get the look I want. Both are spectacular stylists whose cuts grow out nicely especially with layering. Prices are reasonable and there is no pressure to change your look or buy their products which are so diverse and natural for color treated hair. There is nothing to do with hair that Tom can't do brilliantly (incredible color) with a great sense of humor who listens well to any questions or concerns you might have. I can't recommend him or Anne highly enough. Don’t miss out having Amy wash out your hair...she’s the best. AC

I have been coloring my hair various shades of blonde for the last 8 years. The color that Ann gave me not only corrected the colors that I didn't like (that a previous colorist has put in), but gave me a new look with only minimal processing. She knew exactly what I wanted and listened to my color concerns. It was the best experience I have ever had getting my hair colored. The color worked perfectly with my complexion and I got complements on my hair right away. I will definitely be back when it is time for a touch-up.

It is so difficult to find people who are good at cutting curly hair. That is why I am overjoyed to have found Tintelations. Ann gave me one of the best cuts I have ever gotten and beautiful, natural-looking highlights. My roommate, who has straight hair, always leaves with a great cut and color as well. Tintelations is unpretentious and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this local gem to anyone.

After 3 trys at blonde highlights, the resulting color was harsh, overprocessed and very disappointing. The highlights were flat yellow and opague and there was no connection or blending in with the low lights. I noticed that all of the other patrons getting blonde highlights seem to have the same yellow highlights going on with their hair. If you like yellow, this will work for you. I went to another salon (one voted for best color ) and my hair finally came out beautifull with blonde highlights and honey brown lowlights that are all blended in perfectly. Nice people work at this salon but I would not recommend it for blonde highlights. Also this salon looks very messy and untidy, especially in the bathrooms and in the back area.

I've been going to Tintelations for over 10 years. I'm always getting compliments on my hair and everyone thinks it is my natural color (far from it). My hair is greying and I decided to go blond. As my natural color has changed over the years, they have maintained a natural-looking, consistent, great color for me. I've been to Ann (the owner - the best colorist ever!), Carla and Tom - all excellent. You won't find a better shop for color anywhere. I highly recommend it to anyone for any type of hair color. Mine always comes out perfect. I tried a number of different salons and I would never go anywhere else.

Pros: Excellent color, good cuts, comfortable atmosphere

Cons: Not a full-service salon - no nail care

I have recently moved from Atlanta and was having a hard time finding a good salon that was not stuffy, that is, until today! Tom was funny and full of life and did a great job on my hair. Charlene waxed my eyebrows and she was just super! I really recommend Tintelations. If you want a great cut/color at a great price, this is the salon for you!

I am happy with the results I got from this salon. I got the cut and color that I had in mind. I just told the stylist what I wanted and she did it. Prices are very reasonably and the location is very good. Thumbs up!

Tom was fantastic! I wanted to do something to fix highlights that I didn't like, and he was amazing. Gave me several suggestions of ways to change it, and then left it up to me - and did exactly what he said he would. My haircut is also amazing (also by Tom) and very flattering. Again, gave me a few suggestions and then left the decision up to me. Spent tons of time talking about options, felt great. Would definitely go there. Price was great too - $45 for cut and blow-dry - amazing prices for Boston!

Pros: value
