This place is awful don't go there. The burritos are way overpriced. They are poorly wrapped and they basically taste like rice-shaped salt. I say rice shaped because there is so little meat or salsa that you can't even see or taste it. Do yourself a solid and go to Anna's up the street in Coolidge Corner instead.
Pros: quick service
Cons: terrible food

I love Mexican food which makes me quite critical of places such as this. I enjoyed the food I had but I wasn't amazed. If I am hungry in Brookline Village I would certainly consider Baja Betty's but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Given the price, this is your best bet at a decent ,cheap meal in Brookline Village.
Pros: Cost

Don't eat here!!!! Gave me and 2 others food pois oning in one night. Place is filthy and use ingrediants that have been sitting in the open for hours. Employees don't wash hands or wear gloves after handling cash. Overpriced. Owner is arrogant. You are better off eating at Taco Bell

Great food every time I've gone. Simple menu but creates quite a few options. Prompt service, good prices, and comfy seating, too.
Pros: Burritos and everything else, too.

I was played. Having had a decent experience with a late night tamale at Baja Bettys I returned for a burrito, only to find that Id been deceived. The price of my Betty Burrito was about $7certainly a high end burrito. But my expensive burrito included only trace amounts of cheese and veggies, no sour cream and no guacamole. For $6.75 I want guacamole. What was in my burrito was not very good. neither juicy nor flavorful. I found the menu difficult to understand. I also found the attitude of the man working the counter similarly difficult to understand. He was even grouchy about explaining the menu to me. Life is too short to eat bad burritos. And there are just too many places for good food in Brookline to put up with poor value, lackluster product and bad attitude. Bye bye, Betty.

As a Brookline Village native I am very fond of Baja Betty's. You are always greeted with a smile and the quality of the food is far superior to other burrito stands. The menu offers a wide selection of combinations for burritos, tacos and quesedillas. The burritos are much larger then at other restaraunts and there is always a large selection of sauces. Although I would still choose an Anna's burrito for about half the money, Baja offers great quality for those in the area.
Pros: freshness, quantity
Cons: Over priced, Closes early

I can't believe that anyone would prefer Boca Grande over Baja's (as did the last two respondents)! Truly, Boston knows nothing of Mexican food. I miss Chicago. Baja's gives you good quality and large portions at a cheap price. It's some of the best I've found in Boston and the guys who run it are very cool folks. Grande, on the other hand, thinks that, literally, a small strip of cheese, some generally unflavored rice, a few pinto beans straight out of the Goya can, and a splash of hot sauce qualifies as a Burito Grande! Gringos! I go to Baja's at least once a week. Boston is pretty poor in the Mexican food department, but Baja's is some of the best I've found in this town.
Pros: Fresh food, Good portions, Relatively cheap

I purchased a burrito at Baja's which I thought was horrible. It was dry and flavorless. The little salsa and guacomole in it was squashed on one side of the burrito. The wrap used was the same kind sold in the supermarket. Also, the man that made the burrito did not use gloves, he also handled the money. Anna's and Boca Grande are much better in addition to being less expensive.
