Excellent Food!!

The new owners are great! The service was prompt and friendly. The food was fantastic.

All four guests in our party enjoyed our meals (four different entrees) and our desserts (four different). We are looking forward to trying the new Sunday Brunch now too.

• Pros: Great "old world charm"
• Cons: low ceilings

Worst customer service and cold food

My wife and I used to frequent the Sun Tavern as it is just a mile or so from our home. Generally the service and food were good. However, we arrived one evening to have a quiet dinner. The host was eating her meal at the coat check and seemed put off that we wished to be seated. When we were served after a prolonged wait, the food was luke warm at best and the service was untypically slow. We asked to speak with the manager, he was not on duty, we were promised that he would call us to adjust the bill for the service and cold food.

I made many calls to the manager and sent emails regarding our experience to no avail. If you are interested in a 1-2 star meal at 4 star pricing this is the place for you. We will not be returning.

We had a wonderful dinner at The Sun Tavern recently. True gourmet menu. I haven't had duck as crisp and flavorful in a long time. My husband had a chicken dish that had butternut squash ravioli. Very quaint and homey feel. Very friendly service.

A wonderful old place witha warm atmosphere, great food and friendly service. The menu selections are varied, there are items you will see nowhere else. They also have some lovely pinot noirs.

A great little restaurant out in the country

Having been a number of times now, there is nothing on the menu that I didn't completely love. It has a cozy feeling regardless of which dining room your're seated in. Great winelist. Great service.
