Wow. I've been going to Kelly's since I was a kid -- and I'm 50 now. Over all those years, Kelly's is still my family's favorite place to go for fast food prepared to order from good-quality ingredients. Where else can you get hamburgers or hot dogs served on hot buttered toasted buns -- not to mention the world's juiciest, most succulent roast beef sandwiches, tender chicken fingers, and an absolutely ginormous fish plate (fresh cod, fries, onion rings, and the best tartar sauce on earth, in portions generous enough to feed petite me and my 250-pound hubby)? And don't get me started on their fried chicken or clams. And their lobster roll, while an indulgence is worth the money -- big chunks of fresh lobster meat with the right amount of mayo to create a little bit of heaven on a plate. The original Kelly's on Revere Beach is still the best -- not sure that the branch restaurants are quite as good. Let's face it, nothing tastes better when you're sitting by the beach on a crisp fall day, eating piping hot fried scallops and fries, while the gulls wheel overhead and the wind rolls in off the ocean. Not sure why so many folks think prices are high at Kelly's these days -- maybe they're ordering the lobster rolls, which is the most expensive item on the menu. I can still feed my husband, me, and two college-age kids with appetites to match for under $35.
Pros: Parking is easy (except in high summer); food emerges piping hot
Cons: Long wait; branches are inconsistent; stick with Kelly's on Revere Beach for best food

The fries look and smell good, but after watching 3 - 200 pound women scarf them down during at lunchtime at work, I can definitely say I will stick to my low calorie salads. :)

Are you nuts? Kelly's is so overpriced it's unreal... The prices are not Cheap and it's become overpriced for the quality of food you get there. 3 people can't eat there for under $30.00 dollars. Wake up and smell the coffee.. they got too big and lost their appeal!!!
Pros: Easy to get some seafood
Cons: Expensive, food is not like it used to be.

I was brought up in Revere, and ate at Kelly's at least twice a week. The food is still very good, great cheeseburgers, the dog's are the best with their warm buttery toasted roll, but the roast beef is unpredictable. They give you a big sandwich but it's not alway's cooked the way I like it (rare to medium rare) If you like your beef well done and dry you'll like this sandwich, but if you like it rare it's a good idea to ask them before you order. The saugus location in my opinion is the best one. The service is faster, and they usually get the order right every time. The prices have definitely sky rocketed over the years, but for the quality of food you get its well worth the extra money.
Pros: Fresh food, great burgers and dog's
Cons: Roast beef sandwiches sometimes dry and overcooked.

A quintessential Boston dining experience is to get a roast beef sandwich with all the trimmings, a chowder and some fries and head across the street and dine out on the outdoor dining patio next to the beach. And to curious visitors to Boston, this is not your typical fast food "roast beef". This is fresh from the oven, just sliced and juicy meat. Forget your diet and get it with gravy for the full experience. There are several other Boston locations but the beach location is by far the most fun.
Pros: Real Roast Beef; Clam Chowder; Great Beach Location

I think the food there is good however i'm not sure how anyone could find it inexpensive! The portions are good but feeding 2 adults and one 2yr old cost me 35.00 ! that is not cheap i feel they are very expensive.

But the food is still pretty good. Growing up in New England, every Friday Night was Kelly's night. It was just a no-brainer. I always liked the chicken fingers and fries, those are still really good. The roast beef, I guess is still good, although, I'm not a huge r.b. fan to begin with; the portions are still large, and the meat is good quality beef. Love the sauce! Is that good with fries too? LOL.. Something about walking along the Revere beach on a hot summer night, holding comfort food.... mmmmmm it's a beautiful thing. Do I recommend it? Of course.
Pros: seagulls, parking, congestion
Cons: , new england, open late

Not the best Roast Beef around, despite the name. The prices are as high or higher than most sit-down restaurants, how did it end up in cheap eats? The fried seafood is expensive, but fresh and very good. Everything else is average at best. There are always a million people working and service is still slow. Still, I have been stopping by Kelly's for 20 years. I prefer RB sandwiches from Bill & Bob's. And touristy or not, the best fried clams anywhere are from The Clam Box in Ipswich!
Pros: Fried Seafood, Location, Tourist Attraction
Cons: , Average food

I dont understand the infatuation with Kelly's - I guess anything tastes good at 2am when you're drunk, but try eating there any other time. Expensive as most sit down restaurants and the chowda is thin and watery. The hot dogs and onion rings are excellent, but the roast beef is average. Mikes in Saugus kicks butt for RB, or the best is Harrisons in North Andover on Rt 125. Worth the drive!
Pros: hot dogs, onion rings
Cons: , chowda, roast beef
