The Scene
Located right on the Charles River, the Royal Sonesta offers rooms with a view, mostly of the river's picturesque sailboats, the Boston skyline across the way, or of Cambridge itself. The hotel's 400 guest rooms and 21 suites are all contemporary in decor, featuring stylish art work, handmade Tibetan rugs, heated marble floors, European beds and more.

The Details
All rooms offer cable TV, Sony Playstation, direct Internet access, T-1 and ISDN capabilities, two dual-line telephones with voice mail, in-room safe, minibar, iron and coffeemaker. There's also laundry service and a complimentary shuttle to points of interest. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the Sonesta Health Club, complete with Nautilus equipment, saunas, atrium-style pool with a retractable glass roof, Jacuzzi, personal trainers and spa services.

comfortable stay

i had a wonderful stay at this hotel -- beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, fantastic pool and fitness center, and fantastic view of charles river.

Great family choice

The Royal Sonesta was a great find. Not a bargain hotel, but a reasonable price and a great value. It is literally steps away from the Science Center and close to the T. It has decent accommodations and some nice perks - CD player/clock radio in room, indoor pool, on site parking (which was included in our 129/night rate), two queen beds and shampoo AND conditioner ;). The rooms are well insulated and the only time I noticed the mob in the adjoining room was when I was in the hallway. We did not use the restaurant due to the many choices in Boston for food, but the staff sent up some plates and forks up to our room for us to use for my sons birthday cake, which we purchased at the Cheesecake Factory located across the street in the mall. All-in-all this is a great family hotel.

Great Location and Amenities

Hotel is great place to stay - convenient - across street from Cambridge Galleria (Cheesecake Factory, Papa Razzi) and down the street from Lechmere T stop providing easy access to Boston. Nice pool, friendly service. Great view of Charles River and Boston.
