If you think you're funny, you could be in Improv Boston -- but if you'd rather leave the funny to the veterans, pop in and catch a show. If you're so inclined you can hang out with the cast after wards for the mere price of a beer. Rub shoulders with average Joes and up and coming stars. And be prepared to laugh. Improv is not stand-up, and its not sketch comedy -- if you go in expecting either of those things, you'll be disappointed, but if you get there expecting to see peolpe being funny by teh seat of their pants, you won't be disappointed

I wanted to see comedy for my 30th birthday. I have seen a bunch of improv before - but ImprovBoston's show (I saw the Main Stage - Saturday night show) totally blew me away! I was really surprised. It's not your typical gamey improv thing with cheesy one-liners. (Not at all like Whose Line is it...) Instead, it was much smarter than that. The performers literally had me (and my friends) from beginning to end with intertwining stories and jokes. When I left, my stomach hurt - i was laughing so hard. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for smarter comedy - and a really fun night out!
Pros: smart comedy, right on the T
Cons: nothing!

First that's not the right address. Second, I respect the work they do in performing, but did you ever get the feeling that the casts don't get out much? They think they are funny, but they are not always. I caught a Friday night showcase show and wondered how the heck it was considered for a Friday show. Saturday late night shows were perioidically funny.
Pros: Nice new theater, occasionally funny show
Cons: A little full of themselves.

The Boston scetch show was absolutely painful to watch. There was absolutely nothing funny about. Sitting in such a small venue with people who were trying to desperately hard and coming no where near entertaining was one of the more awkward situations I've had to endure. Several people left before the show was half over. Do the performers and the unwitting audience a favor and close this show NOW. Worst $18 bucks ever spent.
Pros: none
Cons: worst "comedy" ever

Everyone trying to hard to be edgy. Service Poor. Bad Attitude. This was second try. I'm never going back.
Pros: Easy Parking
Cons: Everything else

I have seen many shows at this theater and I've always had a great time. The quality of the shows varies a little, but they have so much energy and spirit, it's totally worth every penny!
Pros: Talent, Energy, Value
