Great little used CD shop

Great Used CD shop in Harvard square. Very good turnover of stock. I only look through the rock section but they do have many CDs in the Jazz, classical and world music sections as well. Staff friendly.

They have something that you can't live without.

You could go to Planet daily and find something that you cannot live without each visit. All you need is the time to browse their extensive collection of all genres of music. It was the first stop in Cambridge before Tower closed and obviously remains so today. The staff is friendly, knows lots about lots of music and musicians and is willing to spend time helping you make your purchasing decisions. I cringe when I read about independent stores closing, and losing this one would eliminate Cambridge as a destination for music shopping. This is Customer #28 (inside joke) saying "Keep up the good work and put Rick Nelson on your next store T-shirt."

• Pros: Everything you can imagine
• Cons: SACD selection (out of their control, really)

great selection- good for all genres

good record store underneath my other favorite place to go in hrvd. good selection. my boyfriend and i went in looking for elvis costello and the police and billy joel found allllllooott of good records..... havent checked cds out toooo much but records or plentiful

• Cons: i dont care but they DONT HAVE MOVIES THERE I DONT THINK

cool shop with a great selection

Planet records continues to provide the harvard square community with a great, ever rotating selection of good music. Mainly CD's, the shop also caries LP's and more. Why buy new CD's? Located on JFK street across from Staples and Grendel's, there is also a new reason to go there: Raven used books just opened up next door and provides really good used books.

Planet records stocks a great selection of contemporary and classic music-- both in cd and lp forms. They always have new excited stuff and their prices are excellent.

fantastic shop in the heart of harvard square

Planet records is my favorite place to purchase used and discount new CD's and records. Ever changing selection of both popular and obscure artists. There has been many times where i find out of print CDs at planet that i could not even find on the internet -- and at fantastic prices. Located on JFK street between Shay's pub and the similarly excellent Raven Used Books, Planet is worth a look.
