DO NOT GO HERE, THE OTHER REVIEWS ARE FAKE!

by LizzEberhard

First off, i want to mention that the other post on this page are FAKE and probably written by the business themselves to promote themselves. Check YELP for more accuracy.

This U-haul is a total rip off. DO NOT GO HERE! The people who work here are ICKS! Completely rude and condescending. They DO NOT let you know of fee's before hand, and completely STEAL money from you. I went 12 miles ($0.59/mi.) and had to return the vehicle after midnight. There were no gas stations open and i did not want to add miles to the charge, so since i used less than A GALLON, i returned it without the gas (not even a whole dash was used!!!!) I was charged a $37.00 refueling fee (THIEVES!!!) and a $10 fee for renting in Boston. (A fee i have never heard of before despite renting in Cambridge and Brookline) The reall freak show is that i was not notified of the fee's before hand, and the Brookline U-Haul does no fine you $10 for just giving them business. What happened to the 1900's when people did business fairly? Whoever gets payed from this business can look forward to some horrible karma.

A well-run operation

by cartesian1

I had an excellent experience renting a truck at this location, in contrast to the shambles at another U-Haul location nearby. Friendly, efficient service all the way, the manager even comprehensive help with directions on the phone when we got lost on the way back.

  • Pros: The manager at this location is superb

Good operation

by jakefac25

Mgr, Jorge White has his stuff together. His operation was opened early in anticipation of a busy weekend schedule (5/31/09) and I had my truck and was on my way within ten minutes and prior to the official 9AM open. Counter associate, Greg, was helpful and gave me a quick run-thru on the truck details. Return was just as quick. Lot Supervisor, Charles, ran the return operation like a Drill Sergeant, issuing crisp orders on where to park, taking my return info on a hand-held and having me on my again within 5 minutes. Even offered a smile and a hand shake as I left. When I got home my reciept was waiting for me on my e-mail. All-in-all a good experience on what can be one of life's more challenging experiences - moving. Suggestions: If moving in the Boston-Brighton-Allston-Cambridge area, give thes guys a call - early. Have your packing done in advance - if in doubt, go for the next larger truck (I used a 10 footer for a one bedroom move - and I managed to fill it up with standard one-bedroom stuff - throw in a exxtra O/S chair or a few extra boxes and I would have needed the next size. Treat these guys with respect and you'll get the same back.

  • Pros: Helpful and courteous staff
  • Cons: No "on-site" parking for private auto. Steet prking availabl
