The team at International are terrific. Huge range of bikes, from Trek through to luxury European Ferrari equivalents, like Pinarello. They have the knowledge, expertise, resources and committment to back it up as well. From fully customized through to off the shelf, from kids, to pro, you just have to ask. I purchased my road bike and the whole experience was characterized by honesty, professionalism and a good sense of humor. Since the purchase, it's like having my own "pit crew" on call. Any questions or concerns, they're responsive, professional and quick to help.I would recommend these guys to anyone who wants a good long term relationship with a bike team who are definitely all pros.
Pros: Great staff, large range of quality bikes, good deals, committment to customer
Cons: no way

International Bike in Boston has a terrific team of bike enthusiasts who can't do enough for the customer. It's really clear that satisfaction is a priority and that they're looking to establish long term customer relationships. There's Karl, the triathlete who's enthusiasm about bike gear is contagious, Seth who is extraordinarily patient and professional; he takes as much time as it takes to get you fit absolutely perfectly. Eric the techie, who'll track down almost anything no matter how obscure, and Harold, the owner who is in the trenches with the team and always willing to help out with the best deal. Often, the words, "... this is cheaper and better value for money ", were spoken, and they were correct. Not something I'd expect from a retail business. The mechanics handle the bikes with kid gloves and assemble them as if it were their own. My experience has been great and I recommend them without any hesitation. Whether you're a student with a disabled Huffy, or a pro racer hopeful looking for the latest in high tech carbon and electronics, these guys will put it together meticulously and keep servicing it to keep it running as new.
Pros: Extensive range, Experienced professional staff, Budget friendly, Wallet wise, Great Service
Cons: Absolutely none!

I was interested in purchasing a new road bike and searched hrough most of the stores in Boston. While many were friendly and had some degree of knowledge about the bikes, International was unique in that they sought to fit me to the bike, rather than match the dimensions of my wallet. All the staff are extremely knowledgeable, polite and professional. I shared with them what I was interested in and they went out of their way to obtain it for me. Turned out it was far from being stock inventory. Nevertheless, they searched, found and fit me perfectly. The bike has been a dream. Their after sales service has been absolutely beyond the norm. They have dealt with any problem as if it was their own bike! I have had a number of bikes from some popular stores here in Boston but none of them compare to the approach of International. Harold, Karl,Seth and the team cannot seem to do enough for customer satisfaction. While I was there, many students and customers came in for advice, and minor service which was often done free of charge. It's obvious they see themselves as part of the Boston cycling community and more than willing to give back. Whether you're a racer, triathlete, weekend rider or just want to explore with the family, International has never let me down, always addressed each and every enquiry, repair and question without hesitation. This has got to be Boston's Best; no question about it!

They have a pretty good selection but are very unorganized. I got sent back and forth between the two Boston area locations several times and was generally given the run around. Then when I was finally able to get the bike I was looking for they didn't honor the deal that was given to me at the other location. I dealt with four or five different sales guys and some were helpful, but others were rude and unconcerned. If they weren't the only local dealer of the bike I wanted I definitely would have taken my business elsewhere.
Pros: Selection
Cons: Poor Organization

Maintenance work is done well and returned promptly. There's a good selection of frames and accessories in stock. Managers are friendly and have good advice but other staff aren't always as helpful (it's a large store).
Pros: Parking (lot is in back), selection, inventory

I brought in a Roadmaster bike (embarrassing) that I use pretty much once a week. i wasn't looking to spend $300 for anything special. I asked that the breaks be in working order, and the man working did just that. He immediately put my bike up to fix, worked on it for about 10 minutes, took it for a test ride, and gave it to me free of charge. I didn't pick up on the bike snob vibe at all - my bike is rusty and gross - and he fixed it well and was very courteous.
Pros: parking, service, atmosphere
