Sculler's is the Finest Jazz Club in New England/Anywhere
by MAKPJAZZ57
I've been attending jazz concerts at Sculler's for at least 10 years and Sculler's has the best acoustics, best jazz and excellent staff, focused on extraordinary customer service.
Best Jazz spot
by tempted_44
The variety of jazz acts that Sculler's has cannot be matched in Boston. They have vocals, piano, percussion, horns and anything else that you can think off. The atomosphere is always welcoming. The price for the shows can't be beat for the level of entertainment that they have. There is always something that the pickiest of jazz lovers can find to listen to at Sculler's. You can't get any closer to the artists than at Sculler's. It's an intimate setting with great sound. The service is great and this seems to be lacking in more service oriented industries these days. They want and appreciate your business.
Worth the Trip!

Every time I'm in town, I make a point to go to Scullers. The atmosphere is small and intimate and yet they have the best names in in Jazz. The staff is so friendly and accomodating and the view is fantastic. Would highly recommend.
The Only Jazz Club !!
by Ellensup
Scullers Jazz Club is by far my favorite entertainment venue in the Boston area. The quality of performers is unbeatable, and the service is second to none. We've always done the dinner/show which to me is the way to go. Park in the parking garage, have a leisurely dinner, then enjoy cocktails and the show. Ideally, you should book a room.... relax and take in the view!
Can't say enough good about the whole experience! You've got to try it!!
Great Destination Spot!

I come into the Boston area from New York about once a year, always stay at the Doubletree, and always catch a show at Scullers at least once during my stay. The music is great, the ambience is even better, and they know how to pour a drink (unlike so many places in Manhattan).
I'm a scotch man myself. Goes well with the Jazz.
- Pros: Ambience and atmosphere, quality of music
High-end jazz and a great river view in an upscale, elegant setting.

The Scene
This L-shaped room in the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel affords an easy view of the stage from most angles, and the club's body count is usually kept at a manageable level, which makes it the perfect place for a date or a quiet evening of music with your sweetie. The adjacent Grille and Lounge is a dark, pretty room that makes the most of a view of Storrow and Memorial Drives and the sunset-drenched Charles River. Service is excellent and attentive.
The Draw
Scullers is one of the more comfortable music spots in Boston, with a balanced mix of young lions and respected jazz elders. The menu hits a few high notes of its own: Grilled tenderloin comes on a mound of creamy mashed potatoes, and the grilled salmon is nearly undone by a nicely conceived but overly sweet accompaniment of fruit. Generous salads are best ordered with dressing on the side to forestall a thorough drenching.
This is the best?

Don't get me wrong, I had a really good time. Scullers has great artists that come though. The drink menu is fantastic. Prices are high, but that's to be expected. However, I'm from Chicago where they have REAL jazz clubs. Seeing the show in what was essentially a converted conference room in the hotel took a lot of the fun out of it for me. I didn't get any vibe from the place.
- Pros: Small, Drink Menu, Great Artists
- Cons: No Vibe
Scullers is the best Jazz Club in Boston
by neatomosquito
We enjoy good music and you don't get a better venue than Scullers to enjoy it in. The room is small and intimate. Don't be afriad to put on those dressy clothes gathering dust in the closet but casual is fine too. Either way, you're going to be comfortable . Make sure you take advantage of the dinner and show package. The food at the Boathouse Grille is delicious and you get front row seating at the show although it's impossible to be far from the performers. If you're from out of town stay at the hotel. It's a clean and well-run operation and keeps you off the streets after those late night concerts.
- Pros: Intimate, Small, Close to Stage
Best club in Boston
by jazbost
Truly the perfect place to enjoy top performers! I've seen Nora Jones, Lou Rawls, Harry Connick Jr and many others at Scullers. The staff is always accommodating and professional. Small enough to feel like you're on stage, large enough to attract the best as well as up and coming musicians. Lounge menu is perfect and very reasonable. The food and waitstaff are friendly & consistant. Great spot to impress or break the ice on a first date. Upscale yet comfortable. Very easy to get in & out of.
- Pros: great value, comfortable, excellent acoustics
Excellent Intimate Jazz
by tbcoffin
I have been to Scullers on several occasion and had an excellent time. The seating allows you to feel as though you are on stage and can interact with the performers. The service is friendly and attentive. With the availability of hotel rooms and a world class restaurant, the performance turns into a wonderful evening as a couple or with a group of friends. I highly recommend Scullers!
- Pros: Performers, Parking, Hotel Rooms
