Bad bar, bad management, bad everything...
by MysteryShopper
I walked into this dive bar, and it looked like a college dorm room and smelled even worse. I should have left at the sight of it. I decided to stay for a drink, which was another huge mistake. When the beer arrived it smelled horrible and tasted just like it smelled. I tried to send it back and the waitress told me that the next beer I got was coming from the same place and would taste the same. When I tried to pay the total came to $7 and they refused my credit card. When I told the manager that this was against card policy, he stated that he didn't care and there was nothing he could do about it. Which was all a BIG LIE. If you can avoid this place do so at all costs...unless you are standing someone up who you really HATE or want to break up with.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Smelled like old beer, and garbage. The beer even tasted bad
Absolute worst
by OurHouseWestIsTheWorst
Our House West is pretty fun if you feel like smelling garbage and hanging out with dirty hippys. Their manager is a mangy human being. Seriously though, this is the worst place I've ever been. Our House East is at least fun, and not full of dirty hippies. No but seriously, I'd rather spend a year in Kosovo then go back to Our House West. But really, it's the worst place ever. No, really, absolutely horrible. Terrible. Just terrible.
- Pros: None, no joke.
- Cons: Hippies
WORST BAR IN ALLSTON! and they steal your money!
by JasonBridge
Ok so I use to always go to our house because it was cheap. Then i noticed that my tab kept getting larger and larger even though i always got the same thing. I had a feeling that the bar tender was ripping me off so i went to a waitress to order a drink so i could prove that the guy behind the bar was over charging me....and what do you know, he must have added 10 bucks to my tab. I questioned the bartender and he told me to leave. I asked for a manager and he replied that he was the manager. if you go there keep your eye you for an asian guy behind the bar also, dont eat anything there because ive seen too much (this site blocks words that describe it) go there once and youll know what i mean.

I've been going to this place for years now. I started going when I went to bc and keep coming back. Our house is a great place to relaxand grab a few beers with some friends. There is ussually a good crowd on the weekends. My favorite night is thursdays at our house, theres just something about the people on thursdays that i like.
Great hang out
by bosox04
I love this place. I had lived in the area for years and never even knew it was there. A friend dragged me in and I absolutely loved the place. It feels like your hanging out at a house, hence the name. The drinks are cheap and there is plenty of talent there.
Had to respond to "the staff is friendly"
by slavins2ndbiggestfan
I've been going out in Boston for a few years now, and the staff is the worst I've ever encountered. I was there on a Pub Crawl (for which Our House voluntarily signed up) and the staff was visibly upset at having such a large group of people in their establishment. They had no problem taking out their feelings on those of us who were part of the Crawl. I understand that a group of that size can be a challenge, but none of the 12 other bars on the Crawl handled the situation as badly as Our House.
- Pros: Low prices
- Cons: Nasty staff
Great atmosphere and cheese fries
by hatchiematchie
This place is fantastic. When I lived in Brighton we would come here whenever we wanted to kick back and have a beer in a place where there are people, but not TOO many people, that definately feels like a bar but not TOO much like a bar. They have cheap beer and their cheese fries are absurdly satisfying--get them. The music they play is also notably good, a great variety and stuff you don't hear at most bars. One thing that is less-than-cool is it's not too smoker-friendly, because if there's a line to get in and you go outside to smoke, you have to get at the end of the line and wait to get in again. Maybe they've changed that, though, I haven't been there since I quit. All in all, two thumbs up.
- Pros: Price, packed with fun, hip
- Cons: Crowded on weekends (usually a line to get in)
Good deal and good fun

Nice place for a burger and to hang out and catch up with old friends. The menu is typical burger/pub grub. The burgers are pretty good and sizeable, and they offer a good mix of combinations.

this is a place one can go alone and not feel like a loser. the staff is friendly and the food and drinks are just as nice. couches, board games , hot chicks, what else do you need.
- Pros: good music, good people, brubakers
This Comm. Ave. hangout entertains local college students with its laid-back, dorm party vibe.

In Short
It's a dank, dark world inside this grungy college bar, where lively co-eds sprawl across the beer-stained sofas, conversing, playing games or watching ESPN. The pub-like menu, utilitarian in nature, tempts the hungry, wallet-weary masses with inexpensive burgers and fries. A late-night destination for a friendly, dress-down crowd, Our House offers plenty of recreational activities, including an outdoor patio, pool table and jukebox.
