Great service, nice people!

I am surprised to read negative reviews about the Honda dealership. We purchased a new Honda a few years ago. Until today we use their services for routine maintenance and other problems as well. The stuff is VERY respectful, friendly, and helpful. Service is excellent and performed in a timely manner. Never had any delays or mishaps!
Disrespectful, inefficient staff

I recommend not going to Herb Chambers to purchase a Honda. We were treated disrespectfully, given misinformation, and had to deal with long waits while at the dealership. Our actual experience appears below in greater detail.
We visited Herb Chambers with the intent of buying a used Honda Accord. At our initial visit, we were made to wait a total of 3 hours. In between looking briefly at cars and a quick test drive, the salesman attended other customers, talked with his supervisors, and made a single photocopy. Their service was incredibly inefficient.
After we selected a car we liked, we were offered a reduced price by a manager (down from the dealerships' initial price of 16,000 to 14, 000), however, when we attempted to negotiate based on external damages to the car, we were told negotiation was impossible, even after we showed the sales staff that the car was priced at 13,000 by the NADA. We were told by one staff person that the car was about to go on auction, and by another that the car had just arrived and wouldn't be auctioned off for another 30 days.
We needed a car immediately and decided to go ahead with it. The salesman responsible for bringing the car to our mechanic for an inspection was 45 minutes late, and when we indicated that he should have called, he replied by shouting (literally) "I'm not your slave!" and being incredibly hostile. We talked with his supervisor, who agreed to handle our paperwork from there on out, but who was unwilling to make the few affordable fixes to the car that our mechanic recommended, even after how we had been treated by the sales staff.
Don't go to Herb Chambers, you can do better.
- Pros: Good selection
- Cons: Sales staff hostile, wasted lots of time, won't negotiate
If you want to end up at the police station, buy your car from these idiots.

This was my first car buying experience and last with Herb Chambers. I ignored my gut and bought the car from these guys because I needed to get it done quickly; total disaster:
First time - shady: I was scheduled to pick up my new car at 2pm. They pretended they didn't have the correct insurance information because I went through a different insurance co. than the one their shady finance guy had suggested. It was going to ?take awhile" for the paperwork since I insisted on using my company and was told to come back later.
Second time - 911: I return later that day at 6pm and waiting patiently ? for an hour. They tell me that my car has been stolen and I have to go to the police station to report it. I have not been given the keys so I have not taken ownership. They disagree and insist that I go with them to report it. The cop taking the report agreed with me and made the slimy Herb Chambers Mgr fill out the stolen car report. They give me a minivan to drive until they "find" my car.
Third time - no charm: I get a call that my car has been ?found?. It was "taken mistakenly" by someone from Enterprise. They give me two options: I can take the ?stolen? car that now has an additional 70 miles on or I can take another car. The new car I choose is conveniently not available. So, just wanting to put it all behind me, I take the "used" car. They say they will credit me the miles - they still haven't.
Fourth time - WTF: I get a call the next day. The car is still listed as stolen and has not been registered properly. I have to bring it back in ASAP. They say they will have my car for me Monday morning. I confirm twice - it will be ready by 9am Monday morning. Yes, they lie.
Fifth time - Done: I go Monday morning to pick up it up. Not ready: "registration is never done before 3pm". Livid, I ask to speak to the general manager, who is completely condescending and rude. No apologies.
- Pros: None
- Cons: The list is too long - they failed at every opportunity to save the experience.
WOW- I cant believe people arent happy....

I have never posted any opinions about anything on-line but I have to say I have had wonderful experiences with both sales and service at Honda - herb Chambers. In fact one of the reasons we continue to buy Hondas is because of the wonderful service. Also just a note to all - unfortunately we do not write about our good experiences normally - only about the bad so take all the bad comments with a grain of salt.
- Pros: The staff remembers you and recognizes you
- Cons: have not had one yet
worst experience ever.

these people claim to take care of you. however they are extremely rude and full of it. They try to pressure you into everything that is overexpensive and not worth it. I will never EVER go to any Herb Chambers dealer again. I got the same car I was looking for in under 45 minutes at BOCH honda of Norwood at the price I wanted. 4000 DOLLARS UNDER WHAT THEY QUOTED ME AT HERB CHAMBERS. I highly recommend skipping any Herb Dealer unless your ready for drama and nonstop phone calls from customer service for 3 weeks after you have washed your hands of them asking how your service was. NEVER EVER GO TO HERB. go to ERNIE.
- Pros: nice looking cars
- Cons: way overpriced, awful sales tactics, awful service, awful EVERYTHING
service? not so good

I've had my car for 6 years and have been to a few Honda dealerships and this is by far the worst in service I've experienced. I'm new to the area and this was the closest Honda dealership so I decided to give them a try. I've been to this place twice and did not like both experiences. Both times the service advisors were inattentive, and seemed too busy to listen or explain what was going on. Both were very pushy and seemed like they just wanted me to pay and be out of there. I'm a very easygoing customer and usually will stick to one place if I like them. I am definitely not coming back.
Rip off, look else where.

I bought my car from an indy dealer, got the '02 9-5 for a cheap price. Then a year later, i wanted to get it done "correctly" at a dealership. Nearest saab dealership? Herb Chambers Saab. I went there, got
-Front brakes
-Front Rotors
-Cabin Filter
-Serp belt and pulleys
-fuel filter
-oil change
all for a measly price of $1100.
They suggested that i get the belt work done..... They said that the belt had a tear in it along with the pulley. "Yeah the roof was resenting the car, and it decided to peel back. And we found a unicorn pooping in your filters." kind of talk.
I didn't want to take a chance, and so I got it changed.
Then I drove to school without a problem. 600 miles away from Boston.
I parked at Detroit Airport to fly back home one day, and i started to hear some squeaking noises. I called Herb Chambers, and they said "bring it in, so we can get it checked out."
** if you're skimming, read this part please**
I went to the nearest saab dealership at school. They said that the belt was an old and dry belt. They said that maybe they grabbed a really old belt off the shelf. Then when i came back to the dealership, because it was squeaking again, they looked further into it, and said that the mechanic put the pulley on WRONG. and there was a washer that was just spinning freely.
I don't know if this was their intention, but i'm certainly tee'd off.
I'm in the process of calling them right now. their service manager is on the phone with a customer.

This dealership was an absolute nightmare to deal with. We were quoted a great deal after a great many phone calls back and forth and were told we had a week to take the deal. We went in, five days later, prepared to buy the car when we were told "bottom line- I can't give you the car for that price." When we inquired as to why, we were told the person who had offered the deal was not in to help us (even though we had just spoken with him on the phone) and that they could only sell us the car for an additional two thousand dollars. These were cheap and dirty sales tactics- I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.
- Cons: untruthful staff, dubious sales tactics, unprofessional
