A popular gem in the Emerald Necklace for strolling, jogging, fishing, boating or simply relaxing.

Overview
When Frederick Law Olmsted designed the loop of green space around Boston that has become known as the Emerald Necklace, Jamaica Pond was one of its key links. The 76-acre glacial remnant is rimmed by trails popular with runners and walkers. You can also enjoy a lazy sail (small boats of course) or row around the pond from the over 100-year-old boathouse.
Features
Bring your pole. The pond brims with trout and salmon: It's liberally stocked by the state, which makes for excellent fishing year-round. Look for brook, brown, rainbow and tiger trout. The 20-brood stock salmon can weigh up to 20 pounds apiece. Lots of people know this--that's why the fishing can get a bit crowded. There are restrooms, a water fountain, snack bar and office at the boathouse. Sailing lessons and boat rentals are available.
