Best Place

I have gone here for as long as I can remember and I love it. My friends pay twice as much or even three times as much. The staff is always friendly. I always get a great haircut and they even did a fantastic job on my hair for prom. I have been in there tanning booths and they are very clean. They are a great part of the community and i wish them another 18 years of great business.

Picky people will find faults everywhere...

Awesome Place

My family has been coming here for years and I recommend this place to everyone. I even got my girlfriend to leave the place she went to to come here. The Price is half the price that my girlfriend use to pay. I don't know what another person was talking about when they said it was pricey because it is not at all. Also, just because you see an article online, don't judge it by when an article says because people who write them are always out to find something wrong with a place. Everyone is very friendly and it is the cleanest place I have ever been to. The tanning booths are superb and I have never seen cleaner ones then the ones at Sizzlin. I highly recommend this place for your hair, tanning, and nails.

18 years in business..must be doing something right!

Sizzlin Hair Designers has been in business for 18 years. It is a family owned and operated salon. Cleanliness is one of Sizzlin's top priorities. The stylists at the salon have been with us for many years, some as long as the salon has been in business. As far as a previous comment about the channel 7 broadcast for a code violation, it had nothing to do with the cleanliness of the salon. It had to do with not having price list visible. The State Board is very strict about their regulations and we are very dedicated to following them.

People should not assume that because we were mentioned in the report that that means we are dirty. Maybe that person should come and visit us and find out for themselves before forming an opinion.

Sizzlin has always been about customer satisfaction. We have many, many clients that have been here with us from the day we opened the doors. We appreciate everyone of them and love to extend an invitation to anyone seeking a new hair salon.

not gettin my hair cut there

Hello

I was just looking to check out hair salons in East Boston ,so I did a basic search in my keyword box for Sizzlin hair salon ,and to my surprise there was a Channel 7 article about it being cited for Code violations.

Since its not a food type establishment,and only cuts hair etc,and does tanning ,how hard can it be to adhere to the States sanitary code?

Just think if they only caught them that day,one must ask ? How long has it been in Violation? YUK

These girls know what they are doing. I went in there with a bad hair cut from another salon. Mandy looked at it and said I can fix it. She did just what I wanted and it looked beautiful. Wash, cut and style was unbelievable. This place was the first to do what I wanted done to my hair. All of the other places do what they think is going to look good not what you want. Sizzlin Hair Designers is the number 1 place for todays hottest looks. And it was not a lot of money twenty-six dollars.

Quality hair at a quality price.-a must try!

I have been a loyal client of Sizzlin for the past 5 years. Among this time, I have gone to 3 different great stylists and have never been disappointed. I have had my hair ruined at many downtown Boston salons. They are reasonably priced, definitely not like Newbury Street salons. The review above states that the hairstylist had to ask the "receptionist" about the hair color. What this ignorant customer did not know was that the reception is actually the "owner" of the salon, who in my opinion, has demonstrated nothing but the utmost care and professional management of the salon. I would consider this salon a "must-try" for anyone who is sick of being ripped off by Boston salon prices. Ask for Mandy or Jackie for a stylist.

Totally Inadequate!!!!!!

The last month, I needed an emergency coloring, highlights and hair cut so I went to this place to get my hair done and guess what? The stylist didn't know how to color so they made a huge mistake! They color my hair over and over (4 times) until they dried out without doing the rest and guess what? now my hair is falling out!!. I think If you need a hair cut, this can be the right place for you, but if you need to get your color done, DON'T even think about it. The hair stylist was unprofessional, she didn't know what color to use so she had to ask the receptionist (I think the owner, which also was unprofessional) If they color more than 4 times it's because they don't know what they are doing. Plus, I paid as if I was on Newburry street, just to have a black hair color !!!!!! Also, they didn't even finished the highlights and cut. Do you think this is fair? In addition, they treat you as you never been in a hair salon. NEVER AGAIN!

• Cons: Too crowded, Bad service, too pricy for being east boston.
