Dorchester's Historic and has a Society to celebrate its history!

This is one of the oldest historical societies in the area [and in fact the town of Dorchester was founded several months prior to Boston's founding in 1630, but was then annexed to Boston in 1870] and has begun efforts recently to restore its properties and rejuvenate its activities. Of special note is the preservation of the Blake House, the oldest in the city of Boston. See the organization's website, dorchesterhistoricalsocietyDOTorg, for information on programs and events.
