Great Boston Breakfast
by YEAGER
Mike's has a great breakfast and the best prices I have seen. Very authentic when you think of a Diner! Wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. Small place but they are very good at getting people in and out. An awesome place to go if you're looking for "Boston" type places. Great location!
- Pros: Great Food, Great Price, Authentic
- Cons: Waiting time

Bad customer service, Hair in Food
by Astorian219
Waiting for a table wasn't too bad. We were seated within 20 minutes. Service was horrible. We had a waitor who rushed our orders. He didn't even ask for our drink choices. Feeling pressured to order i chose a grilled chicken wrap. Food came pretty quickly but not that great. My grilled chicken sandwich was supposed to include coleslaw and a pickle, but for some unkown reason came with only the wrap. What was worse was that I found a hair in my chicken wrap. At that moment I was disgusted and knew that I wouldn't return. Our original waitor hadn't come back after delivering our food, so we consulted another waitor. He was younger and much more polite and calm. He actually was nice enough to not include the price of the chicken wrap. Overall experience.... horrible!
- Pros: Good soda
- Cons: Service, Food
great breakfast selection
by ddllss
Just went to breakfast with my family. We were pleased to see actual omelette pans on the stove as we walked in, so all three of us ordered omelettes: one Mexican omelette with chili and cheddar cheese; one omelette with lox, onion and tomato; and one omelet with mushroom and swiss cheese. The omelettes were good, but in all cases the eggs were cooked too dry. Those of us with the chili or the cheese were O.K. but the tomato was almost missing in the second omelette so some swiss cheese was shared to help provide moisture. The potatoes were absolutely fabulous, and the grits were perfect. And true the the menu, the coffee was truly bottomless. A very good meal that could have been perfect with a few more tomatoes and a bit less time on the stove. Next time, will ask for the eggs to be moist and see whether it works!
Unsanitary
by pburke76
While wating for a table at Mike's I noticed multiple waitresses eating while working (one licked her fingers), coughing and sneezing into their hands, and not washing their hands. I work in a restaurant and eat out frequently. These unsanitary activities were so overt and numerous in a 5 minute period that we walked out before even sitting down to eat. Disgusting.
- Cons: Unsanitary
Best breakfast in boston

If you can get there early, or deal with the waits, mike's is the best diner in the city! also quite cheap!
- Pros: Food, service
- Cons: location, crowds
A real breakfast dinner around the corner
by slunardi
Breakfast is an important meal and my wife and I love to have it outside. Today was our first visit to Mike's diner. We really enjoyed it.
We are good eaters but it's a lot of food. We order 3 'Emergency Room' breakfast for 3 of us. I would definitely recommend to be careful when ordering. The bacon was better than the sausages. The eggs sunny side up were cooked just right. The potatoes have a really good seasoning.
The staff is very friendly and efficient (sign of a real diner I take).
As we are still in the process of moving in, a hearty breakfast is just what we need.
We will try again and report back.
- Pros: Diner, Hearty breakfast
- Cons: Very large portions
Mike's Diner = A way of life...
by c__town
With items such as the Emergency Room, with pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast all combined into one glorious amalgam, it is no wonder that the line at Mike's continually spills out the door and onto the street. This is the place to be if you want to rub shoulders with local students, doctors, policemen, and factory workers, each enjoying this oh-so-healthy cuisine of grease--made exactly how your grandmother used to make it for you.
