I currently live in boston this summer and was recommended by a friend to get my hair done my Ashley Saltalmacchia at Daryl Christopher... she is young, edgy, and won't let you leave the salon until you truly love your hair. She is passionate at her work and is currently building her clientle. I ended up getting a color and a cut and loving every bit of it! Her cuts are affordable for newbury st in boston. Since i was a student she gives out these 20% off cards for your visit and if you recommend her to a friend! in my opinion she is a great hairdresser but also great to talk to!

I moved to Boston about a year ago and I was soooo nervous to go to someone else for color! I loved my colorist at home. I have brown hair that I color and highlight and I hate red!!! Luckily, I found Kathleen at Daryl Christopher in Boston. I get so many compliments now on how natural my blonde hair and highlights look. It's so shiny too! She does something each time she calls a "color glaze". I thought my color was great before, but my hair is in so much better condition than it used to be and it's so much more natural looking. A little pricey, but I find I can go longer between appointments because the color is done so well so I don't mind. I don't usually write reviews, but I had to tell everyone because I am so happy...
Pros: Open late nights and Kathleen works Sundays in the Waltham location.
Cons: Parking (Newbury Street!)

It was my first time at Daryl Christopher. I had booked my appointments well in advance (my fiance was out of town for his bachelor party and I wanted to treat myself). What a treat it was! Everyone (including the front desk) was friendly, professional, and the services were excellent. I left feeling SO relaxed and my nails and skin looked SOO good! I'll be back soon! Thank you!
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Waiting area could be larger

I've been going to Daryl Christopher for about 4 years now for highlights and haircuts and I love this place. I have had more compliments on my recent color...it is a combination of highlights and low lights that look extremely natural. They use an Italian hair color that doesn't contain amonia but has some combination of natural herbs that actually smell good and has got to be better for your health. I'm actually pretty confident that this salon is very health conscious all the way around. I usually see Angela for color and she is amazing but I also really like Katie in Waltham for cut and color.

I just went in and purchased a $125.00 gift certificate for a friend. While I was paying, I noticed they were running a special- buy a $100.00 gift cert. and get a $25.00 gift cert. for yourself. Since I had just paid 125, I asked for my gift certificate and was told I didn't qualify for one. How is that possible, I asked. I just spent MORE than the threshold on your special. Their answer? "I dunno, that seems weird. But its only for people who spend $100. That's the promotion. Yeah. I dunno." Forget the fact that clearly the point of the promotion is to get people to spend over $100, forget the fact that they didn't even tell me the promotion or alert me to the fact that I was buying myself out of a gift certificate. I am so sorry that I have given them money.

I had my hair put up by Carolina. I should mention here that my hair is very long, thick, and heavy, and doesn't like to hold any sort of shape or curl, but she did an amazing job-it was unique, and she blended my input with her skill to create something that looked great on me. The atmosphere was very inviting and friendly, and I felt comfortable and relaxed. It was well worth the price, although her previous customer overran time and we started a little late.

The spa is great. I get my pedicures here; Lyuda does a phenomenal job. When I walked down to my hair appointment, I dinged my toe, and she came downstairs (while my hair was being done!) to fix it. Cuts are mixed. The first time I went in, the girl who cut my hair did it quickly, didn't add layers as I'd requested, and blew dry my hair quickly so that it ended up being a little frizzy-- all because a regular client of hers was waiting. I went in a second time, based on a colleague's recommendation to see Michael, and he did a great job with my hair -- really took his time cutting and styling it.
Pros: good pedicures, friendly staff
Cons: , on the pricey side

Rose gives a fantastic cut and really natural-looking highlights. The first time I went the staff kept me waiting for awhile without any apology, but I had no problems the second time.
Pros: great haircut
