My girlfrend and I had a V day dinner at Azure on Thursday night. The $75.00/person was a great deal! I had the Grilled Swordfish and Lisa had the Pan Seared Venison Medallion. For dessert we had the White Crème, Cherry Goo. We loved the place and would go back again soon.
Pros: Custmer service
Cons: Small but nice

Sorry about formatting: My date and I went to Azure early on Wednesday evening (just after seven - I was late and the room was bustling) (March 7) during Restaurant Week and we had a great time, even if we had to wait ten minutes for a seat. // The soups were really well made: my girlfriend had the seafood stew and I had the onion soup, done in the traditional style with a sourdough crouton and lots of cheese. I didn't get a chance to taste hers, but mine was better than average . // For entrees, I had the skirt steak and she had the salmon. I don't remember what the sides were for the salmon, but the "jerked" fries that came with my steak were very flavorful and a nice compliment. // Here's the thing about me and steak: I like it rare. I want it seared on both sides and a nice, juicy middle. When I asked for it rare, the server pointed out that it would be RARE, not a medium-rare or medium. This is the first time that I've had meat cooked to my satisfaction in a restaurant in a very long time. My compliments to the staff at Azure for treating diners like adults. // I've read a lot of people talking about the size of the entrees, but they were just about perfect for us. If I were to nitpick, I'd say my date would have liked a bit more fish, but it was Restaurant Week and we both feel we got what we paid for. We ended up sharing dessert; despite my distrust of desserts that aren't chocolate based, we went with the recommendation of the toffee pudding. It was the perfect ending to the meal. // I'm not the biggest wine drinker - I leave that to my girlfriend, but the recommendations were spot-on. I was also impressed with the service. For a very busy night, we were treated better than expected and the manager stopped by to see how the meal was. Everything came together nicely that evening and we'll be going back to see what it's like when they aren't as busy and can spend those extra few seconds putting everything together. I suspect we'll be impressed.
Pros: Smart Servers, Good Wine Selection, Great Food.
Cons: Noisy, but it was Restaurant Week.

I have never written a review for citysearch before, but after reading some of the reviews posted here I felt compelled to share my very positive experiences at Azure. I moved to Boston from Toronto three years ago and when I first arrived I was appalled by some of expensive, oversized, over-rated, unoriginal restaurants in the Back Bay... it felt like a lot of the food at these restaurants were mass produced and all the menus sounded the same. This fall my mother came for a visit and we were looking for a local restaurant which was not any of the aformentioned things (in the past we had tried The Atlantic Seafood Company, Turner Fisheries, Legal Seafood, Abe&Louis, Davios etc etc). I had seen Azure and looked it up on line, it was refreshing to finally see a menu that sounded unique. We decided to try it, and we had a really wonderful experience there. The wait staff was knowlegable, friendly and efficient and the food was fabulous! I was actually really surprised to read that people said that the portions were too small... my friends call me "Hollow Leg" because I can eat so much... and I left very satiated! The plates were full with great presentation - every other dish that I saw come out of the kitchen looked equally generous. I am not sure if people are expecting the obscene portions (where everyone takes home a doggy bag) that you would get at some of the other places that I mentioned earlier...but that to me is a major turn off, and not really indicative of a good restaurant. My mom and I enjoyed our meal so much, that when she returned last month with my father, she insisted that we go there. Some dishes that I recommend: slow roasted turbot (best fish that I've had in Boston), Braised short ribs and grilled cowboy steak. I also have to mention that the prices at Azure are comparable if not less expensive than the aforementioned restaurants. I really enjoyed my meals at Azure and am looking forward to going back. I hope that you give it a try.
Pros: Great food, nice ambiance, more unique than the other restaurants in the Back Bay
Cons: None

This place is great, you would never expect to find a restaurant like this in a hotel - only in Boston. I went there with a few friends for drinks before dinner at another restaurant. We looked at the menu and decided to just eat there. The menu was very intising. The food was great and the service even better. The best part is you can walk over to City Bar for after dinner drinks.
Pros: Great food and service
Cons: none

I went to Azure for dinner with a friend that works in the Copley area. The food is in very small portions and the taste was mediocre at best. It was a very disappointing decision. It's a nice looking restaurant and it's quiet so I would return but only for cocktails.

My girlfriend and I went to Azure during "restaurant week". This is one of that peculiar group of restaurants that considers miniscule portions as a token of quality. I ordered the salmon; after searching my plate for a number of minutes, I finally located the salmon - a small strip of fish I would estimate weighed about 4 oz. This is less than my cat eats for breakfast. My gripe with Azure does not center solely on the size of the portions, however, because the dish was particularly bland (despite the apparent attempt to adorn the salmon with 'exotic' fruits/vegetables). My girlfriend ordered the hangar steak, which was not bad. It, however, consisted in a few meagre slices of beef. If one serves portions that small, the food ought to be divine.
Pros: Wine List. Service.
Cons: Food quality. Food portions.

My friends and I enjoyed a fun evening at Azure. The room is stylish and welcoming. We started with a fruity martinis recommended by the bar tender and then continued with dinner. Everyone in our party of 10 enjoyed their meal (and desert). The service was professional and attentive.

My husband and I go to Azure regularly. We think the dining room is interesting and enjoy sitting at either the bar or a table. We love to bring our out of town friends to the restaurant for a delicious and interesting meal. Wine selections are also outstanding and affordable. Our meals have consistently met our high standards and we will definitely be returning.

I tried Azure due to the praise it received here, but found it to be a disapointment. The food was not original and 2 people had their monkfish and salmon delivered luke-warm. My party was not impressed at all. The service is very helpul and attentive and Azure does have a great wine menu, but the overall experience fails to meet expectations.
Pros: wine menu, service
Cons: food, overrated
