Best of Boston

by KC618 at Citysearch

My boyfriend and I recently went to The Palm to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. it was an excellent experience from the beginning. We were greeted warmly at the door, seated promptly, and spoke with our waitress immediately. The wine selection was diverse both in price and variety and the waitress was very knowledgeable. My boyfriend had a perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth filet mignon. I had Alaskan King Crab legs which were as long as my arm! The food was incredible from the soup and salad we started with all the way through to the giant hunk of chocolate cake at the end. The waitress even offered to box half of the cake up before she even served it. Nice touch! I can't say enough about this restaurant. We have also been to the one in Las Vegas at Caesar's Palace and it was consistent with the one in Boston. Easily once of the best restaurants in town!

Worst dining experience EVER

by kxs123 at Citysearch

I was very disappointed in recent dinner there. I expected fine dining and we had sub par food and condescending service. My dining companion's steak was tough and part of it inedible. At least our dogs loved it! My salmon was just 'ok' but Legal Seafoods would have been way better. We asked how the server recommended asparagus and we tried the 'fritti', which came breaded...he should have explained this, as I didnt go there to eat pub food. It was greasy and we only had one piece, and no one came to ask how everything was, we would have said: terrible. The asparagus at least should have been removed from the bill. The meat at the Outback steakhouse was tastier than what was offered here. Disappointing to say the least and the Palm should be ashamed to pass off second rate food and outrageously bad service at these prices.

Wonderful menu, Amazing service!

by diningout12 at Citysearch

I recently ate lunch with friends at The Palm and expected to go in and order my usual everyday salad. I was surprised to learn about their new ?Dressed? for Success salad menu, a portion of the proceeds are donated to Dress for Success. How generous of The Palm! Not only was I impressed with their philanthropic efforts, the Tequila Shrimp Salad was wonderful! I would definitely go back soon just to try another one of their new salads, especially since a portion of the price is donated to good cause. My friends and I also love the friendly and attentive staff, martinis, and quick service--our server was so funny and delightful! Cheers to The Palm!

one of the best in boston

I been dining at the Palms for awhile now .. 10 plus years on a monthly basis and I absolutely love it. I'm in my early twenties and anyone from my age to an older more sophisticate person would enjoy. i recommend wearing dressy casual. it is located in the copley and the atmosphere is great. traditional steakhouse but very classy. Celebrities and stars dine here and you can find all their portraits painted on the wall...no matter what everyone is a celebrity there! Food is incredible and anyone I've known to go there absolutely love it and can't wait to come back...be prepared to spend alot...Its up there with Grill 23, Capital Grill, and The Oak Room etc. Romantic no but you get a great meal that you can enjoy without being rushed. Great bar for drinks too. They make a mean martini :)

CEOs unleash their inner cavemen (and vice-versa) at the sole Boston location of this pricey steakhouse chain.

by Eric Grossman at Citysearch

The Scene
Located in the Copley Westin, Boston's lone location of the acclaimed New York steakhouse chain attracts a loyal base of local celebs, dealmakers and visiting businessmen. Walls are adorned with playful caricatures of its most famous patrons (including Governor Mitt Romney, right at home in the restaurant's chummy, big-money environment). Efficient waiters are keen to make sure your steak is served at the right temperature (for $35, it'd better be).

The Food
Rare is the steakhouse that trumps the Palm's well-done steaks. Expect your 16-ounce strip to arrive grilled to perfection and unadorned; a full meal requires an appetizer (try the outstanding, no-filler crab cakes) and one of the mammoth sides (creamed spinach, spiked with Parmesan, never tasted so good). Those looking for an alternative to beef make do with three-pound lobsters and traditional Italian dishes like Veal Marsala. For dessert, huge slices of sinful cheesecake await those with endless appetites.

Highly Disappointed!

by publicizer at Citysearch

For the price and hype of this place, I expected MUCH more. I have never been so disappointed in service, fair, and attention. We had to flag our server down to order desert, never checked on our satisfaction of our entree's, my steak was under cooked, and the asparagus was terrible! The waiter clearly thought we were not spenders and treated accordingly, too bad for him we were never offered the chance. The management didn't impress me much either, during our conversation, of my approach, he started conversing with his bartender. All in all I would say FIND SOME PLACE ELSE!!! Definately NOT worth it!

  • Pros: a night out
  • Cons: food, service, attitude
