Best small shop in town where everything you can imagine is there to entertain in style!
by joniknows
KoodeKir has the most eclectic gifts and precious items for the home than you can imagine.
Kristine continually finds new and unusual items of wonderful quality to entertain her on-going
clients whims and fancies and to keep their homes fresh and alive. I can't think of another place
to shop for home accessories as pleasant as KoodeKir, right down to the music. I hope they win.
A treasure on traditional Charles Street, this sleek home-goods store takes your breath away.

The Scene
As befits a lifestyle and design store with a funky bent, Koo de Kir (loosely translated from the French "stolen heart") oozes both warmth and irreverence: Cherry-red hardwood floors and red, blue and gray walls create a sense of playfulness. Patrons browse amid furniture, frames, rugs and other home goods to the strains of Annie Lennox, Morcheeba and French classics.
The Goods
The store features functional works of art, such as stainless steel, square eye-catchers, sculptures that glow using three-dimensional tea lights. Shoppers also admire a line of sterling silver, freshwater pearl and aquamarine. Other big sellers are bone and horn dishes made from real steer.
Still crazy....after all these years

Koo de Kir is still the best store. Always new items, always changing, always refreshing.
- Pros: Style, Up to the minute
Love it

It's so refreshing to go to a store in Boston that isn't jam packed with the same old stuff! Everything in this store appears to be hand picked and special. There's a real "eye" and I enjoy shopping as much as browsing.
- Cons: parking, closed on sunday

Something Special
by lullabelle
I disagree with one of the reviews so I decided to register and write my own. Koo de Kir is something special. I have only had positive experiences there. Sure, parking is hard, but where in Boston is it easy? I can not even park on Newbury Street anymore until 11am.
I shop there from time to time and always find the store to be fresh and inviting. We bought our sofa from them 1 1/2 years ago and love it and now we stop by for extra things for the house. Definately worth a visit.
- Pros: friendly, fun, changes a lot
Nothing Special
by BestofBoston
I had to write this review, since it appears that many of the comments here appear to be written by the same person. First of all, getting to this store is very inconvenient. After nearly 30 minutes of trying to find a parking spot, to my dismay, the store was closed. The hours posted on the citysearch web say that it is open on Mondays. Once I finally got into this store, I didn't find anything very spectacular as others lead you to believe. Sure, they carry a few items of some imported home funishings, but IMHO, the arrangements of these items in the store appeared haphazard. I was browsing in the store for 15 minutes and no one greeted me, so I left. No wonder there are not Best of Boston for 2002. Try Cocoon instead.
- Cons: Parking, Selection, Value
