The coffee tasted a bit watered down, but I have never had better sicilian pizza!!!!!! They make good pastries too. While the menu prices scare me a bit, its very possibly worth it.

My sister and I went out to this restaurant for lunch shortly after moving to Boston and finding it in my neighborhood. The location is great, on a very cute street with fantastic boutique shops, (they close early though!) The menu was pretty standard, tasty looking. We left satisfied, but a little disappointed with the slightly chewy, subpar focaccia bread. Overall, a nice experience for the everyday meal. Im sure we'll be back.

I love this place for a quick, affordable, fresh brunch. It has a small menu, but everything is great! Wonderful bread, fresh fruit and because you order at the counter, service is pretty fast. Their stuffed french toast and the toast topped with marscapone, fruit and honey are phenomenal. I prefer this to nearby Paramount anyday.
Pros: brunch, delicious food, close to Charles/MGH T
Cons: few tables

Visited 3 times: Oct 2005, Feb 2006, June 2006. Loved each time. Had salmon prepared differently each time - always great. My family stops by the pastry counter to pick out dessert before we sit and look at the menu. Will be there again whenever I visit Boston.
Pros: Love the cozy atmosphere, everyone seems to feel at home.
Cons: Could see that it could get very crowded, haven't experience that personally.

Was looking forward to a neighborhood brunch....instead walked in to a dingy looking place, where you order at the counter and food is brought to a table IF there is a free one. If not, you are out of luck. We ordered and waited, excited about the strawberry, banana and blueberry frenchtoast...however, they brought it without blueberries and bananas b/c they had run out at 12pm!!! When I asked for a manager in order to discuss why we were not told this when we ordered, and maybe order something else, this is what I got in reply. 'You can't eat the french toast w/o those fillings? I think that is ridiculous!'. Enough said.

It's hard not to love this place if you enjoy food - between the various (large) sandwiches, changing (daily) delicious soups, changing baked breads and pastries, large delicious salads, decent espresso drinks, and fantastic weekend brunch items, I'm just waiting for my membership to kick in. Panificio is fantastic because things are always fresh - if you have a chance you should go. Chixn taragon salad or the Cubano sandwich - a must.
Pros: Fresh delicious bread, Good coffee, Healthy portions
Cons: Crowded (at times)
