Not Kid Friendly!!

We made a reservation for 3 and baby. When we arrived, they said they didn't have high chairs!!?? They offered us no solutions, nothing! Not even the courtesy to try to borrow one from a neighboring restaurant. We had to eat at another restaurant. Very disappointing service.
FYI, we found that many restuarants in the North End do not have high-chairs.

This Italian restaurant is smaller than many other eateries in the North End with capacity for 24 patrons, but it is quite popular. Space is tight and the tables are small, but the food is outstanding and portions are large. I usually start with a casear salad follwed by a large choice of pasta selections, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. Serves beer and wine. Does not accept credit cards; cash only
They can't even fill up 6 tables on a Friday night

we'll try to sum this up as quickly as possible. There were 6 total tables, only two of which were occupied, so there was no need for a reservation on a Friday night. My date had to go to the bathroom and was told that he had to go across the street to another restaurant. They only had glasses of "house wine" which came from a stock of the cheapest bottle I've ever seen. Not much selection for dinner. The waitress was so bored that she stood in the hallway and watched everyone eat. When it came time to pay we were told that the place was a "cash only" restaurant so everyone had to run outside to find the nearest atm. Beware of the seafood medley, which is called something exotic but really seems like a combination of everything left over from everyone else's entrees.
There are plenty of other wonderful places to eat in the North end.
Perfect fried Calamari, Perfect White Clam Pasta

I was interested in Pomodoro because at the time it had 100% positive reviews. My friend and I walked in off the street on a rainy Thursday night so there were only two other parties there, with a total of three other tables open. We were seated by the window with a full view of the kitchen. The place is very small, but not crowded. The host/server was very polite and friendly and courteous. The EVOO tasted like the oil I tasted in Tuscany, and the bread was delicious and crusty but fluffy. The fried calamari is the best I've ever had, with the sweet plum tomato sauce on the side topped with fresh herbs and lemon. I had a White Clam sauce pasta dish and my companion had a Cod Fillet dish, both were extremely generous portions and full of flavor. They served the perfect al dente pasta, with the best white sauce. And I know the person who makes the food, loves food and cares about it, because if you look up after you take your first bite, he is watching you to make sure it's the best food you ever had and it probably will be. Thank you for a delicious meal!! I almost forgot, their house red wine, was very nice, ready to drink - don't be afraid to order it! Our server was very attentive and I'd recommend this place to anyone!
- Pros: Excellent High Quality Upscale Meals, very good price
- Cons: probably not good for large parties
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!

Extremely RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! I've never experienced such rude service in a restaurant before! I get better respect in a fast food restaurant than I did here!
I am from NY and read rave reviews about this place. I called in the afternoon to make a reservation and the person I spoke to had an attitude and was not pleasant. At night, I decided to drive to the restaurant, however I did not know it would take almost 1/2 hour to go 5 blocks down Hanover Street and all the parking lots were full. I had to drive back to my hotel to take a cab to the restaurant. By the time I got to the restaurant it was one hour past my reservation. The server had the audacity to say "Do you know what time it is" in a disrespectful tone. I walked out and went to the restaurant across the street and the food was good and the servers were respectful to their customers. My experience at Pomodoro ruined my entire birthday night!
I never write reviews but this restaurant definitely deserved a NEGATIVE review! Pomodoro doesn't even deserve 1 star.. more like ZERO stars!
- Cons: RUDE! HORRIBLE SERVICE!
One of the North End's top spots for a casual dinner offers generous servings of upscale Italian fare.

The Scene
Though Pomodoro isn't as big or stylish as Hanover Street's other trattorias, it stands out by being communal and fun. Small tables--already crowded by bottles of mineral water, mounds of bread and bowls of olive oil--fill up quickly, causing an equal mix of tourists and locals to form a line outside. Social servers are quick to greet regular customers and point out favorite menu items.
The Food
With a menu that redefines the concept of Italian fare as comfort food, the kitchen provides patrons with a satisfying spot in which to enjoy a full meal or a light bite. Even the simplest of dishes arrive with a gourmet touch: An order of lightly fried calamari comes with a bowl of chunky plum tomato sauce; a succulent veal chop is served over a mound of zesty lemon risotto and savory mixed mushrooms.

The food was very tasty, enjoyed the atmosphere and felt like i was someplace special.
Service was exceptional and among the most friendly i've encountered in the city, that really made the difference.
I will make it a habit to come here as often as i can....
- Pros: service was good
- Cons: nothing to complain about

I am italian and this is just like we have it back home. Sauf the server who made us change tables, not once but twice, and did not even say thank you. So if you are looking for a romantic night with stellar service this's not it. If you are looking for excellent food, casual dining, and a story to tell at the office the next day, yes come. The food, esp the seafood marinara pasta is AMAZING.
- Pros: food, prices
- Cons: that one server......
Sshhhh, don' tell...

anyone that this is THE place on Hanover Street. While the majority of restaurants on this street vie for the title of "Who Can Serve The Most Unauthentic Italian Food" (i.e. pasta with chicken, peas, cream sauce, wine, canned tomatoes and whatever else is left in the fridge), Pomodoro does exactly the opposite. Simple dishes with fresh ingredients comprise most of the menu. From fresh calimari or fagioli to outstanding pasta dishes, those wondering why the menu rarely changes will understand once they eat here. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Reservations are limited and the wait can get crowded so be prepared to stand outside for a bit. Also, dessert is not offered so head next door to Graffitti to grab a good espresso and a cup of gelato.
- Pros: Most tourists still haven't discovered this little Hanover Street gem
- Cons: Eventually, they will
long wait for excellent food

we waited 45 minutes for our table even though we had made a reservation. it was a saturday night and there was only one server/hostess, so the wait was understandable in the end. the food in the end was fantastic. it was also piping hot when served and came out quickly. also, the house wine is awesome.
- Pros: great house wine
- Cons: long wait even with a reservation
