Worth the trip

My husband and I travel to Boston at least once a month from upstate NY and never leave the North End without getting our Bova's fix. It's worth getting off Hanover Street to support this small establishment. The waitstaff is always great no matter what time you are there.
My husband can't get enough of the bread. The last time we were there they gave us a free small loaf that just can out of the oven. We couldn't wait to eat it so we ate it while walking down the street. My favorite dessert is the eclair. The chocolate on top is the best. Make sure to buy enough to eat there and to bring home with you.

This bakery is located in the North End of Boston on the corner of Price Street and Salem Street. Last I was there, it was still opened 24 hours a day. They have bakery pizza and calzones and cookies and pastries as well as breads. Great bakery to know about at 2:00 a.m. after a night out.

My wife and I met at Bova's so it holds a special place for us. You could say we met over a CANOLLI!! The ingredients are fresh, the staff is super friendly and you can't beat the atmosphere at the North End. For a true italian experience I highly suggest you give Bova's a try...who knows you might meet your future wife!!
- Cons: A little excercise may be needed after indulging..

I found it by accident at 2am last night and I must say that the key-lime bomb was magnificent. There weren't any tables so perhaps a cookie is a better treat if you want to eat immediately. Everything smelt great and looked wonderful- it was hard to pick.

If you want the true North End experience, then you must go to Bova's. I moved away from the Boston area over 7 years ago, and I wish I could bring a suitcase full of their amazing cookies, cannolis, breads, and their wonderful people back with me to Atlanta.
- Pros: Amazing People, Incredible Bakery, Best Italian Bread

Bova's is my choice when it comes to Italian deserts. Great price, great selection, friendly service and the best part of all... its open 24 hours a day! Its also a little less expensive than "Mike's Pastry" and the lines are much much shorter. I will never go anywhere else!
- Pros: Half Moons, Canolies, And Everything Else!
Roast Beef Subs

I have been lucky to discover Bova's subs - the most amazing subs packed with the most meat I have ever seen. I usually get the roast beef, which is usually freshly roasted (coming out of the oven), housed by their bread and topped toppings. Yet toppings dont matter with all the meat! They run about $5 ea and I cannot eat more than half!
- Pros: subs, pastry, calzones
- Cons: subs during am only
