Attack of the Craigslist spammers...

by Dissappointed001 at Citysearch

PSG comes on big with lots of craigslist ads, putting up average wages for jobs that everyone knows should pay more to begin with. Ask them about it, and they will blame the economy.

This was the last agency I registered with before I FOUND MY OWN JOB.

Tests: Great; Interview: they made lots of promises; Many calls later, No jobs.

Why waste time setting up craigslist ads if the jobs don't exist...

  • Pros: Lots of advertising
  • Cons: Little follow up

Access to jobs

by JMills44 at Citysearch

I've never used any other agencies so I don't have much to compare it to, but my experience with PSG was very positive. I had been let go from my job of 2 years when I decided to give them a call and they put me to work right away. I was able to network a university they placed me at, and while I found a perm job on my own, I still keep in touch with some of my contacts from that job. They kept me busy for about 4 months while I was on the hunt for a permanent job in my field of study, and I couldn't ask for much more.

  • Pros: Kept me busy during my job search

They don't even deserve one star

by temper22 at Citysearch

Consider yourself warned! They will expect you to work for $9/hr while they sit in the office collecting $10/hr on each hire. They will take advantage of you, I suggest you go elsewhere or go it alone, you'd be better off!!!

  • Pros: location
  • Cons: everything but location

Careless Staff @ PSG

by ShipeShape at Citysearch

I typically never write reviews but this agency gets me all worked up. I've been in contact with the Professional Staffing Group several times throughout the past year. Not once have I had a good experience. The employees are incapable of their jobs. They lie and never follow up. I've had better luck on my own. It's a shame companies are using PSG to find talent.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: The Staff

Not the best pay you can find

by jayfromboston at Citysearch

PSG operates like all the other big agencies around, which is a good thing if that is what you are looking for. Personally I like the more personal approach of the smaller ones, but big companies like this one have advantages when it comes to the resources it has. If all you are looking for is a temporary assignment between jobs then this place might be good since it won't take long at all for them to find something for you. But where they fall short is the pushy salesmen mentality that is expected from big companies and that they pay a few bucks less an hour compared to many other agencies in Boston. The agents will push anything on you regardless of it's fit when they are in danger of not making their quota, so be aware of their intentions when they offer you something.

I've known people that have had good and bad success with this agency, with no one is really in the middle. Mine wasn't the best, but since I know people that liked PSG I won't dismiss them entirely.

  • Pros: Lot's of jobs
  • Cons: Pushy, lower pay than others
