I work in the downtown area where JJ Teaparty is located and am very happy I'm able to pay them a visit once in a while to check out the latest sports cards, pick up some bargains, and be around one of the very last honest to goodness, good quality sports card shops in the country. Their prices on unopened material is very fair -- a few times I have found they've been within a few bucks of very large, discount online retailers. That's a pretty tought act to beat. I also like them because they have the occasional unopened wax box from the 80s or 90s, which is my favorite thing to see at hobby shops. Their supplies are very reasonably priced, and I know I can get whatever I need there at a price that's very fair. I'm not much of a singles buyer, but they certainly have a good collection of recent, and especially vintage stuff at what look like good prices (you will always do better on eBay, if that's your style, but sometimes you need instant gratification). The owners are friendly and well informed, and I consider it a wonderful thing that they're still around in a day and age when card shops are fewer and further between than any other time. These guys are the closest thing I've come to the card shop experience I remember from when I was a kid. I hope they stay around for a long, long time.
