i took the best yoga class today at the beautiful north end yoga studio. the studio is decorated with beautiful colors and has a very warm, inviting vibe. i took taryns class and it was simply the best ever. she was warm, beautiful, funny, and the class was hard while being gentle, very well sequenced and mixed with the perfect amount of philosophy and great tunes! she came around and rubbed lavender oil on our foreheads at the end when we were in corpse pose!!! i felt great after class. the studio got nice and warm so you get a good sweat going but not too hot where you feel sick. it was also nice not to have an overly crowded class where you cant move. i really think this is the best new addition to boston and highly recommend checking it out.

Pros: beautiful space

Cons: no showers

Doing yoga is a very integrated experience. It requires good teacher, suitable program, engaged participants, and yoga ambiance. Some studios have good teachers but poor environment – crowded space, no natural light, no aesthetic considerations – that undermines yoga experience. But Northend yoga has all – excellent teachers and a beautifully setup studio. I highly recommend you to give it a try! Northend Yoga a true jewel among local yoga studios. It has a spacious, airy, and beautifully appointed yoga room, decorated with tasteful artworks, plants, and delicate scent of incense. It also has two bathrooms and changing spaces which enable a convenient transition from street clothes to yoga clothes. Alicia and Alessandra are both excellent teachers in the Astanga tradition. This style of yoga requires rigorous concentration and high level of energy, which demand mutual focus between students and teachers. Often Alicia and Alessandra will both be present in the same class, one doing the teaching, the other doing the adjusting. This is most beneficial for the participant since we have more opportunities to receive hands-on adjustments and guidance. Alicia and Alessandra are both dedicated to the teaching of yoga; they are precise in their instructions, firm and helpful in their individual adjustment, and they both have a sweet and funny personality which never make a class dull! The last point: the cost of this studio is very reasonable and the first class is free for you to try it out!

Pros: Good teachers, beautiful studio, great energy and ambiance

Cons: No shower yet.

I have been practicing yoga since 2001 and took my first class with Alicia a little over 2 years ago. Since then, my yoga practice has improved immensely... I've become stronger, more flexible, and more dedicated to my practice than ever before. I am so excited that Alicia and Alessandra have opened their very own studio. They are so passionate about what they do that it shows in each and every class they teach. The studio is so beautiful... they put so much care & thought into creating this space. I highly recommend checking out North End Yoga. I've been to many studios in Boston and this is absolutely my favorite place to practice.

Pros: beautiful space, amazing instructors

Cons: you should avoid driving there!

Alicia has been my yoga teacher for the past 1.5 years and I am very happy she and Alessandra opened their own studio. I am very much a yogi snob, and Alicia is most certainly the best teacher you will ever meet! She is calming, precise and she'll get you to do things you never thought you were able to. The place is gorgeous, warm and welcoming. JUST GO!!!!
