I am Cambodian, and am very picky about eating Cambodian food because my mother is a good cook! Anyways, I went there and it was delicious! It was genuine Cambodian food and tasted just like mother's home cooking. I also made my boyfriend try a dish and he enjoyed it alot. The atmosphere was cute as well for a date. I would definitely recommend this place!!

The first time I went to Suvarnabhumi Kiri as I was trying to decide what to order I overheard someone at another table say "everything here is delicious". Since then I've eaten there about 7 times and I couldn't agree more. The Thai food has fantastic flavor and spice, the Cambodian dishes are great, and the sushi is fresh and tasty. Surprising for a restaurant that is so ambitious in its number of different cuisines. To top it off, the service is very friendly and prompt, the decor is inviting, and the prices are quite reasonable. A great restaurant to take a date or just to hang out with some friends.

Pros: ambience, price, friendly service

Cons: parking

I discovered this place over the summer while out with friends. We focused on the Cambodian part of the menu because my friends had heard that the chefs are Khmer, though we also ordered some Thai dishes. The food was fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. I particularly recommend the Lok Lac, a tender carmamelized beef in lime and black pepper sauce, and the samlor katee, a thin curry made with eggplant and string beans. Among the Thai dishes, the duck mango curry stood out. The servers were incredibly friendly and helpful, though they were kind of nervous and tended to hover over us. Hopefully they'll improve now that the restaurant is getting busier (I called to order delivery the day after the Boston Globe published a favorable review, and the place was packed!).

Pros: Great, inexpensive Cambodian food

Cons: difficult to park near the restaurant

It's so hard to find GOOD Thai food in the greater boston area and until Suvarnabhumi (s-bum), Brown Sugar was the only place in the Boston area to get GOOD Thai food. Granted there area many Thai restaurants in the boston area, but most are lacking in some way. S-bum offers excellent pad thai, pad see ew, and my favorite garlic beef. Their apps are amazing as well with some of the best crab rangoons around. The atmosphere consists of dark woods and when the crowds roll in (it just opened so they haven't yet) this place will be bustling. Service is great. At a lunch with my co-workers we were joking about how my birthday was approaching. Our waiter picked up on it and brought out a WONDERFUL dessert for the table to share. Not your typical thai restaurant. If you want good Thai food and don't want the wait that comes with Brown Sugar, visit Subarnabhumi - you won't be able to taste the difference.

Pros: Food, Service, Ambience

Cons: Parking is tricky but you can always find a spot close by

My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this difficult-to-pronounce restaurant while first exploring our new neighborhood (Allston) just a few weeks ago. The menu was interesting, complementing more common Thai dishes (think drunken noodles or pad thai) with a strong selection of Cambodian rarities. The prices seemed very reasonable, averaging about 10 bucks for the chicken dishes and rarely getting above 15, even for the more expensive duck dishes. They also offered most of there dishes with rotisserie chicken-- a pleasant Western touch. So we gave it a try, and wow, were we impressed. The decor is dark and funky and the service was fast and friendly. We were a bit worried about the food quality as the restaurant was only about 1/3 full (we went again last night - a friday - and the place was equally dead), but our appetizers alone (Cambodian spring rolls) put our fears to rest. The carrots, onions, and pork were perfectly seasoned and cooked, each element bearing its own special flavor and texture. The rolls came out piping hot and the sweet chili sauce was a nice accompaniment. Our chicken dishes came out next and the food continued to impress. My girlfriend had a 'create your own' chicken and vegetable stir-fry with a tasty light brown sauce. The vegetables were all beautifully cooked and presented, the colors fresh and vibrant. My dish, the 'create your own' basil and chili, was just as impressive, with a spicy, rich, and chewy sauce. Our second visit confirmed our original judgment: the food here is just excellent. The menu is expansive and there are many other dishes I can't wait to try. We've already started collecting dinner and lunch to-go menus and referring to it as "our restaurant." We are also shocked that the place isn't swimming with people. As much as we'd like to keep it a secret, we'd rather see it succeed. So give it a shot sometime soon and you won't be sorry This place is an excellent find.

Pros: fresh and tasty food, good ambience

Cons: a little dark, barren fish tank at the front entrance.
