Best real estate agent in Boston

Our family faced significant challenges when purchasing our new home: we lived in San Francisco and had to relocate to Boston in less than three months. Additionally, our work schedules only permitted a 48-hour trip to Boston to scout out condos and put in an offer. We can say without hesitation that our realtor, Will Brokhof of The Boston Home Team, was the single most important factor in our success.

Throughout every step of the home-buying process, Will worked tirelessly to ensure that all our needs were being met. During our house-hunting weekend, he exhibited an incredible depth of knowledge about the local housing stock and real estate market. Will showed us over 25 properties, and, at each one, he distilled the salient pros and cons with respect to workmanship, value, and location. He also gave us an insider tour of Jamaica Plain, orienting us to everything from the best place to get a cannoli to the best playground for our son. When we put in an offer, Will shrewdly negotiated with the seller and we got a great deal on our home. During escrow, he provided us with helpful recommendations for everything from mortgage brokers to home inspectors to painters. Will even suffered through time-consuming Boston bureaucracy to secure parking permits for our moving truck while we were still in California.

Beyond his competency and dedication to his clients, Will is a great guy. His dry wit and sense of humor ease the pain of purchasing a home. Will has earned our highest regard, and we would strongly recommend him to any family or friends who are moving to the Boston area.

Commitment to Buyers

My wife and I were searching for someone to help us purchase a property in JP and we were so glad that we bumped into Christine as she was showing an open house. Christine and Will knew the area like they grew up in JP! They made great recommendations regarding what we wanted and were able to help us negotiate a fantastic price on our new place. We love being in JP and enjoy seeing Will and Christine out and about too! We will recommend them to anyone interested in searching property in the area - we were lucky to find them.

Easiest Real Estate Deal Ever

Will and his team did an unbelievable job with the sale of our condo. From ideas on how to present the unit, to the mass marketing of the property, and eventual sale; I came away not only satisfied, but entirely impressed. We never even made it to our open house, the condo had multiple offers the day before - unheard of in today's market.

Best Real Estate Experience

We recently had to move from Boston to New York due to a change in jobs. We had a very tight timeframe and needed to sell our condominium in Charlestown quickly and of course for the best price. We started looking for a realtor and interviewed several. We were impressed with Will from the start ? he was very professional, listened to our needs and concerns, and did his homework. He was very candid about the fact that he had done little previous business in the Charlestown neighborhood; actually he had done more research on the area prior to our meeting than any of the other realtors. We hired him on the spot. Will came back with a comprehensive proposal outlining his plan. He understood the importance of first impressions, and rather than schedule our open first open house immediately (as other realtors had recommended) he suggested that we give ourselves a week to make some minor adjustments (pack up some books) while he prepared a thorough sales campaign. He brought in a professional photographer, prepared fliers, covered the internet, and made sure both neighbors and buyers were eager and ready for our first open house. In a ?soft? seller?s market he delivered a solid offer in three weeks, with at least one other buyer interested who could act as back-up in case the first offer fell through. Will was wonderful about communicating and scheduling inspections and the walk-through, and helped us with the logistics of selling in one state and moving to another. With Will we were able to turn over the process of selling our house while we focused on finding a place in New York and continuing to work at our full-time jobs. Will delivered by meeting our timing needs and getting us the sales price that met our expectations. He was a pleasure to work with, and if we ever need a realtor in the Boston area again, Will would be our first choice. When one of our neighbors asked about our experience, we recommended Will when it was time for them to sell.

Probably the nicest people in the real estate industry

Having moved over a dozen times in just under 20 years, I'd never before come across a single person in real estate who was likable, trustworthy, AND a true expert. Then I met two at the same time: Will and Cristine Brokhof, a husband-wife team with their own company - The Boston Home Team (their website is the same as their name, www.thebostonhometeam[dot]com).

I'm no novice in buying houses, even in new cities, but with Will's inexhaustible help I was able to find a house, go under contract, and close in the same month. The expedited process required more than a couple after-hours calls to deal with some inspection and financing issues. Through out the hurried process, I got daily updates and Will even continued to check out other properties as back-ups, "just in case".

In what turned out to be a mere 26 days I closed on my new place. I've since recommended The Boston Home Team to a co-worker, who just started working with Will to sell his condo. For those who haven't had the "fun" of working with realtors, keep in mind that experience and knowledge is expected but what really sets agents apart is character. Too many of them just try to get deals done, with the customer's needs taking a back seat. Knowing that you've got a genuine advocate on your side can save you money but, more importantly, cut down on a lot of the hassle, risk and stress of a bad deal.
