Beautiful and delicious food

by loftladycheryl

Fabulous menu! The venison was divine! Everything is created so beautifully that I almost (*almost*) did not want to eat; I had to admire the beauty of each plate as each dish came out. Must order: sea bass, foie gras, venison, and the mini omelet with truffle oil. Also, our server helped us pick just the perfect sake. We had a wonderful meal. We sat at the chef's counter, which at first I wasn't sure if we'd like, but it was so nice watching the amazing creations happening right in front of us. Get there soon!!!

  • Pros: Perfection on small plates
  • Cons: pricey

p.s. bring a seeing eye dog... no lighting in entrance or foyer

EXTREMELY RUDE

by lak000

Have tried to make a reservation at this restaurant several times, both times i believe I spoke to the same woman and she was extremely rude. I am from New York City and know the difference between a "wanna be" restaurant and a restaurant that can pull that off. O-ya: stop trying to be something you are not, customers are key- always keep that in mind.

Truly an experience--Not to be missed if you are in Boston

by beefcookie

Went to O Ya on a weeknight but still couldn't get a reservation before the last seating (9:30PM). Had the Omakase service and must say it was better than expected (and I had high expectations). The sushi were inventive and flavorful, the presentation were gorgeous and the staff and sushi chefs were friendly. I honestly couldn't recite most of the dishes that I had without referencing the menu, as each dish offered multiple ingredients and different preparation methods (these are not conventional sushi, mind you), but what I can say is that they were some of the best sushi I have ever had anywhere(including NYC, Chicago and LA). One warning though: the place is expensive. Expect to pay Per Se or Masa level prices, but it will be a culinary experience you will remember for a long time.

by mem11

Complete waste of $. We spent $200 and left hungry! Would only go there for a quick appetizer before heading to another place to eat dinner.

  • Cons: not a warm and cozy place at all, ridiculous portion sizes, waaay overpriced!!!

O YA? OH YEAH!

by Pride274

Sick and tired of eating the same sushi? Like to try new and innovative ways of making sushi? Well, look no further, come down to O Ya where the sushi is oh so fresh and oh so delicious. The presentation is so beautiful, it's almost looking at a piece of artwork at the museum of fine arts. The foie gras sushi with balsamic chocolate kabayaki is a must try! Don't forget to try the chu toro with cilantro pesto and Peruvian chilies.

Fair warning though, not for the light of the wallet, and the proportions are very small, but worth it. =)

  • Pros: Great food, great service
  • Cons: Hard to find at first and hard to get parking

looooved it

by gotowestvillage

Completely amazing place -- O Ya totally lives up to its reputation. The food was jawdropping. The chef/owners are incredibly hands-on and make the most gracious hosts, and our server was awesome, too. One of the best dining experiences we've ever had.

Fabulous Flavors & Staff

by merilynnt

From the moment we arrived at O ya, the staff was super attentive and friendly. The menu has so many things to choose from and from the first dish to the last, I was impressed. Although portions are small, I think the dishes are more about the flavor & experience of trying something new. The waitress also helped us select a Saki, that was definitely the best I've ever had (although I can't remember the name). Food wise, would recommend the Chilled Noodles w/ Lobster Meat, Seared Dived Scallop w. Sage Tempura & we had several tuna dishes that were amazing. Definitely check out O ya.... you won't be disappointed!

  • Pros: Atmosphere, Staff, Food, Saki
  • Cons: Pricey but worth it

Leather District hideaway serves gourmet sushi and Japanese fare in romantic, secluded environs.

by Gerrish Lopez

In Short
Not for the faint of wallet or large of appetite, O Ya provides an indulgent dining experience. The dimly-lit, NYC-chic dining area features a sushi bar that opens to a kitchen where modern, sophisticated creations such as Kumamoto oysters with watermelon pearls, foie gras in balsamic chocolate kabayaki, and unagi nigiri with basil are created. Presentation is an equal part of the experience, as each (small) morsel is artfully arranged on unique dinnerware. A wealth of sakes both hot and cold is available, with guidance from an in-house sake sommelier.
