A Must See
by Naomi FitGer
I went to Melt last week to treat myself to a day of relaxation and pampering. From the minute I called and spoke to Angela I felt such a sense of kindness and warmth. She spent at least 10 minutes telling me all about the services they offer and put together my day. I cannot say enough about this place, they are so attentive towards you and make you feel more like a friend than a client!! The services were great and I left feeling so relaxed!! This is definetly a place to check out!!
- Pros: Warm, Friendly, Great Services
- Cons: Parking, but its Newbury Street
You have to try this salon!

My neice and I went to Melt Salon & Spa today (Wednesday 11/11/09), and we were amazed at the fabulous haircuts/styles we were given by Herol Rosales! My neice is 30 years old and has thick beautiful hair. He did a masterful job on her hair. I am 52 years old and have some of the most difficult (super-fine, very dry, cowlicks all over my scalp) hair imaginable! I cannot believe what a miracle Herol performed on my hair. I've NEVER been so happy after a haircut/style in my whole life! He spent an excessive amount of time and effort and did a phenomenal job on each of us. It's actually hard to believe that my horrible hair can look this fantastic! Also, everyone at Melt Salon was extremely friendly and kind. I'm a very shy person, but as soon as we walked into this very stylish and fashionable salon, my neice and I were treated as if they'd known us for years. I have never felt so very welcome and comfortable at any salon! I just can't think of enough to say about this place. And...to top it off, the prices are beyond reasonable!! Even though I paid for myself and my neice, and left a fairly good tip, I was shocked to find it cost about half of what I expected to pay!! We were both so excited with the incredible results when Herol was finished, that we each made appointments in another two weeks for color. Honestly, for the first time in my life, my hair looks beautiful and I feel terrific! I am now a forever fan of Melt Salon & Spa. Also, I'm in awe of the artistic and creative genius of Herol Rosales!!
- Pros: Best haircut/style of my entire life!
Great pedicure
by jennybackbay
Tried Melt after I read the Stuff beauty awards because they won best specialty pedicure. It was much different from the average walk-in experience. Loved the service, Kristie did a great job. It was more like having a foot/leg massage than just having your toes done. She used a custom made scrub that left my feet so soft..
This spa is Awesome!!!

I received a Gift Certificate for my birthday from my girlfriends to this place and can't say enough about how great it is. The staff are so attentive and can't do enough for you. I had a facial from Katie and a pedicure from Lucelli which was the best I have ever had!!! I met the owner who made sure to come over and see if I needed anything and to introduce herself to me which I thought was very nice. I have been to a few places on Newbury Street, but this by far is the best. I can't wait to go back!!
- Pros: Friendly Staff, Great Services, Beautifully Decorated
- Cons: None
Brides beware!
by VeronicaL
I've gone to Melt for Luzerne facials in the past, and I've always loved the results. So when I was booking pre-wedding beauty appointments for my recent wedding, I naturally called Melt to book a facial for two days before the big day. They recommended a Hydrafacial for me--they promised that it's safe for all skin types (mine is sensitive) and that I would be glowy for a week afterward. That certainly wasn't the outcome I got. My skin was extremely red, and peeling and flaking all over the bottom half of my face and didn't clear up until the MIDDLE OF MY HONEYMOON. $200 wasted to ruin my skin for my wedding! I wanted to cry every time I looked in the mirror. And when I called after to tell them the problem, the manager's response was "Oh really? Sorry about that." In the past I would have recommended this spa in a heartbeat--now you couldn't pay me to go back.
- Cons: Hydrafacial DESTROYED my skin
Wonderful experience

I am not one to write reviews but I went to MELT yesterday and I just had to write to say that I have never been anywhere that made me feel so welcome. From the moment you walk in the door you are treated like royalty. The setting is so peaceful and the place is decorated with such warmth. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for somewhere different to go to. I should mention that I found them through the groupon promotion and will now be a client for life.
- Pros: peaceful, beautiful, warm service
- Cons: trying to find parking
Rare Find

I have been a Boston resident for over 10 years and have visited the majority of salons/spa's on Newbury Street. This place is one of a kind!! From the moment you walk in their door you are treated really special. They is nothing the girls at the front won't do for you. Angela and Michelle at the desk was so friendly and kind. My treatments began with a massage followed by a facial both were first class!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to go where the people treat you like your really someone special...
- Pros: Wonderful Service, Cleanliness, Ambiance
- Cons: None
Best of Boston!!!!

This place is so great!!! The staff made me feel so welcome and relaxed, the minute I walked in the door I felt like a celebrity!! I had 4 services planned, 2 of which were with Oumie, she is by far the waxing queen!!! My facial with Tricia was not only relaxing but a learning experience she explained everything she was doing and gave me some tips on skincare at home. I really should be thanking Group On, because without them I never would have found this place and I now will be a frequent visitor.
- Pros: Awesome Treatments, Customer Service, Cleanliness, Ambiance
- Cons: Parking....but what do you expect its Newbury Street!!
Best Spa on Newbury

I decided to purchase a Goupon to melt and was apprehensive because I don't usually visit spa's but I really couldn't give up the opportunity. I went in for a pedicure, manicure, foils and a hair cut and all I can say is WOW!!! They leave no detail behind. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Michele who was such a sweetheart and she offered me wine and champagne....which I could not refuse. =)
The spa is beautiful and extremely clean. I had my manicure and pedicure with Luceli and she was wonderful....we were chatting and it was so nice to talk to the staff who were also very attentive. I also met the owner Melanie who was the most wonderful woman I have ever met. They make you feel so comfortable like you've known them for years. I saw Laura for my hair and she is AMAZING!!! As soon as I walked out I had so many compliments from my friends and even random people. She was sooooooo nice and explained in detail everything she was doing. I recommend going to see her because you will LOVE your hair when you leave.
I will definitely will be a regular at melt from now on. I am glad I found this place and am even surprised that I made a few friends there. They now have a customer for life. =)
- Pros: Treatments, staff, beautiful spa
- Cons: None
WILL NEVER RETURN
by joes51076
First can I say that this spa is a small shoebox, not only is it small but made with tissue paper since you can hear everything through the walls. I was not greeted properly, and when they found that I was a groupon client I was treated like a step child. They should not participate in those promotions when they clearly don't agree with them. Worst experience ever.
- Pros: none
- Cons: service, appointment, treatment, enviroment
