Friendly, helpful service
by sfboston
The woman who helped me in this shop was very helpful and did not try to push me to buy something. I wound up not finding what I wanted here, but I can recommend them for service.
- Pros: Nice service
- Cons: I didn't find the frame for me
In-style frames
by EagleBoy
I liked this place because the store owner helped me pick out a great pair of glasses. She is a nice lady with good taste in frames. The store has all the latest brands - Prada, CK, Dior, Tag, Armani etc. along with random stylish frames for anyone. I think glasses shopping can be a pain, but the owner definitely helped direct me to well-shaped frames from the start. Good place! And it's also convenient if you want to order/pick-up contacts.
- Pros: Example: best croissants in town
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
The best eyewear boutique in the Boston area!
by sail07
I have been looking for months for just the right pair of glasses. I went to nearly every eyewear boutique in Boston/Cambridge/Newton and have to say that not only does Cohens have the best selection and price range, but the staff was fantastic! I actually went in three times, once just to check it out, a second to actually purchase a pair, and a third to pick up my glasses an hour later. Each time I was greeted with a warm welcome and was always impressed with the costumer service offered. (They actually remembered my name) Dolly was the biggest help! She listened to what look I wanted, yet she was honest if she didn't think a pair I would try on was flattering. She finally guided me to the perfect, trendy, but not too trendy pair. Each day, I have received multiple compliments on the glasses I purchased and have referred many collegues who have all had the same experience. I highly recommend. (Newbury Street location).
- Pros: Great Staff
- Cons: Parking, garden level
Check this place out if you want to experience RUDE customer service
by lavagirll
2000 characters is not enough space to describe what nonsense I've had to put up with. The girl on the phone was not only rude, but also condescending. I must have caught "Dawn" on a bad day. That might have been a good excuse, but I had to call back several times. She was consistently rude and condescending.
Overall, everything else was just OK. I would only go back if this was the last eye doctor in Boston. No, scratch that, I would drive 500 miles out of my way to avoid this place.

Experience bad service

To the owner of this store:
The service in Washington Street was not as good as the one in Newbury street.
Some staff in this store might provide inaccurate infor such as the policy of the store.
I would like to make a complain to the headquater but the official website do not have the entry.
Wonderful discovery

I hadn't known this place existed, but I was quite happy to find it on Newbury Street. The staff is very knowledgeable and helped me pick out a terrific fashionable pair of Alain Mikli glasses. The store's interior made me feel like I was in a Parisian boutique. My prescription is tough to get right, but the doctor's and optician's teamwork helped make me feel (and see) wonderful. I've been elsewhere and have gotten cheaper materials for my glasses, but Dr. Baumal spent time explaining the options that made me love my glasses even more. I highly recommend Dolly and Dawn for their exquisite taste and patience as they made the process painless and fun! Best doctor and best staff. Great merchandise!
- Pros: ambience, selection, knowledge
- Cons: parking, signage

Awsome, classy store, friendly people and excellent products. The owner found me glasses that fit my personality as well as my job.I was totally surprised she opened her own store on newbury st since i always bought from her at a different location and when i went back nobody seemed to know where she went!!!
Cohen's on newbury st is a happening place but with dolly there, it is the only place to buy your glasses.
