This store is full of the best of the best -- they have a knack for stocking really high quality, unique products. A number of times I have gone in for gifts and come out with something really impressive (and a few things for myself). Great home items and stuff for pampering yourself. I am really glad this store is in the neighborhood.
Pros: attentive, helpful staff

Satinbox is my go-to place for fun, unique, get-their-attention gifts. I've purchased baby shower gifts, birthday gifts, and just-because gifts from Satinbox's website, and they're always a big h i t! Everyone always asks where I bought their gift! Not only are their items unique, but I love their gift wrapping, and their customer service is terrific too. Flat rate shipping can't be beat - I'm jealous that I'm not closer to their new store! Can't go wrong with Satinbox!
Pros: Their website, open 24 hours! And their new store in Somerville - please open one near me!

This is the place to go if you're tired of getting the same old gifts for your friends. I've gotten really unique gifts for friends, gifts for babies, even a few gifts for myself..., from Satinbox and people love 'em. These sorts of things are hard to find at big stores, which makes them more special! So if you don't feel like going into Baby Gap or Bath and Body Works for the hundredth time to find a generic gift for a shower or birthday party, check this place out. An added bonus: they wrap things much more prettily than I would be able to do myself!
Pros: interesting gifts with an international flavor
Cons: not in San Francisco

Finally a store that has gifts for those that are hard to buy gifts for. They have home decor, jewelry, handbags, candles, stationary, bath products and tons of other cool stuff I have to go back and see. The owners (a husband and wife) actually work in the store and are really friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my shopping experience and will definitely go back.
Pros: product selection, service, store hours
Cons: none

Great, cheery little store in Porter Square area. It's part of a house, so it's easy to miss if just driving by. They sell some cool unique stuff from mints to aprons to home accessories. Even with all the boutiques in Boston, this place is definitely worth visiting. Also gorgeous (albeit pricey) handbags. Best of all there's tons of free 2 hour parking in the area.
Pros: Free Parking, Unique Space, Opens late
