The staff is warm and welcoming especially Stacy, the bartender who works there all the time it seems. She is the best bartender and ALL of my Male friends find her extremely attractive and the Women love her because she always makes sure everyone gets served instead of catering just to the guys like many women bartenders do in many establishments.Stacy is a very down to earth person and is a joy to see her when we dine and have a few drinks.I have never met a better bartender who cares about her patrons and still makes sure they play by the rules of the establishment. This place is lucky to have someone like her so we will definitely return and let our friends know.I also want to say that the food is EXCELLENT as well as being very reasonably priced....oh and the drinks are also reasonably priced as well. Good food,Good Value, and outstanding service...what more could you ask for. The "non commercialized' places are usually the best. A Fan of the Salemwood Ruth Burns, Ashley's Mom Forever,Medford MA.

Pros: Great service,Amazing Food,Great value on food and drinks, friendly service.

Cons: No Pool Table or Dart board

We just love love love love this place! It is so homey and relaxed, and the food is amazing. You cannot beat their prices and the portions border on rediculous. On a busy night be prepared to wait for a table- but it is always worth it. Salemwood is the 1st place we think of for a night out. Try it for an intimate cozy dinner and you wont be disappointed!!

Pros: price, portions

Cons: ambience, location

Went on the basis of other reviews with the 10% off coupon we printed out. Great food and our kid found crayons and loved the ravioli and the haddock, too! The portions are huge, the price for the 3 of us, with drinks, was only $20.00! what a bargain! The service was friendly, folks at the next table stopped by to chat - great down-home dining experience and great food. Couldn't be happier!

The food is outstanding here. Although there is a bit of a wait all the food is cooked to order and so good. The prices are reasonable and the staff has improved. I would highly recommend.

This down-home place had tasty food with huge portions.  We had the mixed grill with steak tips, chicken tenders and a home-made sausage with the homemade fusilli on the side, plus the seafood trio.  It was all delicious and piping hot.  We waited awhile, but it wasn't frustrating.  Highly recommend this place as a "cheap" eat.

This was my first trip to this restaurant and I can't wait to go back. There was so much food, starting with the amazing rolls. My meal came with a good sized salad and a giant sweet potato. The steak tips were cooked the way I asked, medium rare, and were yummy. But the best was the baked stuffed haddock. The stuffing was just so buttery. I couldn't stop eating it. The waitress was very attentive and even asked if we had a coupon, which I did and might have forgotten about. I'm looking forward to going back to try other dishes.

I live near by and requent this place often. I generally love it but the service has gone down hill. The dining room is terribly under staffed. Generally, I don't mind, because the food is worth the wait. Last night I came in the door at 7:45 and the waitress said the chef was done for the evening. What restuarant closes their kitchen at 7:45?

Pros: great food

Cons: service

Salem Woods relies on family for its service, so you need to be in the right mindset to visit there. If you're looking for a white-glove, black-truffle-laden experience, grab your wallet and head down to Exchange Street to waste your hard earned money on haute microcuisine. But if you work hard and want to eat hard, Salem Woods is your place. We live right next door and go often, and our service is never a problem as long as we go there looking to have good home-cooked meals served by people who could be our mothers or sisters. This is a homestyle restaurant, which is a dying art when swamped with buffalo chicken and drive thru's, and we try to support them as much as possible. Another reason we go there as often as we do is that we have developed a serious addiction to their Baked Haddock. Buttery, lemony and robust, the fish is flaky and light while the cracker crumb leaves you licking the volcanically-hot dish. ALL the pasta is good, and the steak tips (order them a step above where you want them - they tend to come out undercooked) are marinated perfectly. Everything is homemade, and even the simplest food like chocolate pudding leads to a moaning, eye-closing experience. Salem Woods gives you what you pay for - and then some! Their portions let us eat for days. I couldn't reccomend it more. Tell Michele and Kelly the locals sent you!

Pros: Everything is delicious. I swear.

Cons: Parking, long waits at rush times, at times ambivalent service.

Went on a nice evening, was a bit crowded but we sat at the bar where a "Hottie" bartender named Debbie served us quickly and with a pretty smile....the bartender was the capper on a great dinner. We wanted to ask her if she'd be our waitress too, but I guess that would be a little much to ask. Honestly the most beautiful "40-something" we've ever had the pleasure to meet. Food is plentiful and good, excellent Chicken Parm, seafood fantastic....and the price is right. Definitely worth the trip, especially when Debbie is on duty!!!!!

Service was horrendous!!!! She could not have been much ruder or snapped with any more sarcasm. Waitress would not take our order until she had taken another order 1st (all food cooked to order is great) 1/2 hour wait to put in your order when there are only 5 tables in the place is ridiculous since 1/2 the tables were already eating!!!!!! Everything was a project. food was ok for the price....there was alot, but the quality was very average! Too many other much better restaurants with waitstaff that at least acts like they give a !$@#)

Pros: lots of average food

Cons: service just about the worst, including even macdonalds service!!!!!!
