Multifaceted nightclub provides The Alley with yet another upbeat destination.

In Short
A thoroughly modern karaoke lounge and nightclub, the Alley Cat enjoys impressive parentage (the Celtics' Paul Pierce is a part-owner) and a high-profile home in the heart of the popular Alley. Patrons queue up to sing their favorite tunes, and the club sells DVDs of performances. When no one's on stage, music videos keep patrons entertained and dancing.
No longer exists.

Alley Cat is now closed. It has been replaced by Sweet. A very upscale expensive club. Entertainment provided is DJ only.
a great place

hey guys. If the Alley Cat isn't what you're looking for karaoke wise, Limelight Stage and Studios is a strictly karaoke bar. It's awesome! There's room to dance and it's karaoke ALL NIGHT LONG on Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Check it out.
a GREAT night

I spent a Saturday there a few weeks ago with some friends and found it to be FANTASTIC. The entire bar was singing along with the songs and the people there were so much fun - the fact they use music videos instead of just regular songs adds a totally different element to the bar that you dont get anywhere else in Boston... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
new name - - - same old scene

Citysearch shouldn't write this up as a "modern karaoke lounge" if it is another random dive bar in the alley that has NO SINGING from what I can tell.
Seriously - this is a dance club that is exactly like it was before the name change. Typical club move to think you can slap a new sign up and customers are dumb enough to think it is a new happenen' place (when the sign is the only thing that actually changed). If you've been to the Sugar Shack (?) or whatever ti was before - then you've been here, done that.
I just feel ripped off because I was actually looking for a place to karaoke - not be hit on my sketchy men in a dance club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: dance music
- Cons: impossible to sing!
where is the karaoke?

This bar seems very landsdown-y... I guess it's not a bad scene - if that's what you expect. I thought this place was a karaoke bar - and it's really not. Despite being told on the phone that our group could sing - we got there and were told the karaoke was already over (it was just after 10pm). Seems like karaoke is mroe a gimmick. If you just want to drink - this could work - but if you want karaoke I'd keep looking.
- Pros: location
- Cons: no karaoke!
