Worst bar experience

by aligringra

Absolutely, positively, DO NOT go here.

Had a nice experience planning a party here. Was quoted $100 for bottle service and $300 total for a table. When my party of 20 arrived we were promptly brought to our table and we once again asked how much a bottle would be. We were again quoted $100. We ordered two bottles and drinks throughout the night. When our bill came it was $1000! Each bottle of vodka being $280. We tried to discuss the situation in a calm and polite fashion. Staff immediately became defensive and refused to listen. They did not budge on the issue, told us our waitress did not understand because, and I quote, "she's mexican." Then asked me if I was dyslexic, called the cops, and kicked us out. Where's the customer service I ask? The next day I received a semi-apologetic phone message from management. Hmmm.....someone must feel bad for their obvious lack of customer service.

  • Pros: Example: best croissants in town
  • Cons: No Customer Service

Great Room but Tough to Get a Drink

by caradoll76

I really like this place and sometimes I love it, but it takes forever to get a drink. It takes a while to push your way to the bar, and even though the bartenders are pretty good, it's always super crowded. The music is good, but a little intense. Though it gets overcrowded, it's always a good crowd. So you see, I really like it, but there is always a little something that is a little annoying, so I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.

  • Pros: Great Room
  • Cons: It Takes a while to get a drink

?Spin that record babe....gonna be okay?Just Dance?

by financefoodie

A few weeks back I attended at party at the super trendy, can't-get-in-after-10pm- without-bottleservice Foundation Lounge. The chic and beautiful venue plays the best music in the Boston nightlife scene - it's just a shame that there was no dance floor! What a waste I thought to myself, as Lady Gaga played in the background...

So instead ending the night with "where are my keys, I lost my phone", I decided to create: The Best of Night Awards!

WInners can be found here: financefoodie [dot] com/2009/02/foundation-lounge

All and all, a sober-but-fun (wait...is that possible?) night with an interesting and entertaining crowd. And I didn't turn my shirt inside out.

And obviously, these awards are all in fun and good spirits :)

Worst bartender this side of the Mississippi

by kblyons123

If I never spend another second of my life in this bar, it'll be too soon. After have the worst service ever by some firecrotch female bartender (literally asked "if we were serious" when we ordered shots), I expressed to my friends that I thought she was being a B*&^%. I'm allowed to say that to my friends--after more sighs and eye rolling, I expressed to my friends that she was a C*** (rhymes with bunt). Not the most feminine word, but let's be honest, everyone loves to say it. Unbeknownst to me, Firecrotch has like inspector gadget ears and heard my accurate comments. Moments later, I was tapped on the shoulder by a poc-marked manager telling me I made her bartender cry. I expressed the terrible service, stating it was the worst in my life ever by a bartender. Not caring at all, she decided to stand behind her employee and requested that me and my friends leave--mainly me. After closing tabs, getting quasi-molested by the bouncer after I 1) told him I had a boyfriend and 2) was getting kicked out of his low-rent bar and 3) wanted nothing to do with him, and getting my coat from the complimentary coat check, we left. The coat-checkee--is that really a job? demanded we tipped her--yah right. The joke is on firecrotch and poc-mark though. Our group of friends would have stayed there all night-when asked to leave around 11--we had already racked up over $500 tab. Good move. Moral of this story = don't waste your money, oxygen, or time unless you want horrible service and nightmares of poc marks.

  • Pros: Awful servce, crowded, cheesy.
  • Cons: Hmmm. none.

Worst Experience EVER!!!

by Honestydoesnothurt

I used to go to Foundation every Weds. I used to reserve a table and bring all my friends. I?ve spent thousands in that place. But never again. The drinks are watered down and overpriced, the staff are rude, the door staff obnoxious but worst of all is the manager George Lewis ? one would think he didn?t want to make money. I think he just enjoys being an @sshole to people out of spite. Join me in the boycott of the vulgar man!

  • Pros: Nothing would make me to here again NOTHING
  • Cons: RUDE, RUDE staff doormen, manager. Over priced drinks. No dance floor.

Hot, crowded and LOUD!

by ppd4248

First time there on Saturday, and will never go back! The place was packed, the music was obnoxiously loud, the drinks were expensive and watered down, the front entrance staff was full of attitude from the moment you walked in, the place was at least 85 degrees!, and the service was SLOW!

What was really unbelievable was the line to get in this dump as we were leaving...

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Overpriced, staff with attitude, LOUD music, bathroom sinks out of order!!!

Havent been in a while but glad I went back

by bostonguy617

Havent been to Foundation in quite some time, but heard a commercial over the radio about a new "throwback" night they are starting on Thursdays, so a few friends and I decided to check it out...I always liked the place, but just never think of going out to that part of the city..

anyway, the night turned out great. The service was great, drinks were really good, and the whole night as a whole was awesome. The throwback music was great and being a mid 20 year old, brought me back a bit. It wasnt overly crowded like I heard it gets some nights, but it was very fun and my friends and I really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend The Lounge any night of the week.

  • Pros: Great Atmosphere, good music, great food
  • Cons: little pricey

Going downhill...

by MuscleMilk

Have been partying at Foundation since moving to Boston however the service, staff and drinks/food have gone WAY downhill. Extremely rude bouncers and even worse was the manager, George Lewis who was unprofessional and ruined the mood. I wouldn't go there anymore is someone offered me those free watered-down drinks all night!! Will be going to District from now on for Wednesday nights!! See you there...

  • Pros: Watered Down Drinks
  • Cons: Rude Staff, Horrible Service
