HORRIBLE MOVERS

We rented our own truck and only utilized this company to load the truck. We were going to the out of state driving our selves. They showed up 45 min. early (we were off getting our rental) and they charged us for arriving at 7:15!! Two of the 3 guys were younger and rude. We had small children who apparenlty annoyed them and they had no roblem expressing that continuesly which made for a VERY stressful day. We had explained up front to pack certain items last (and were labeled as such) for they were important business boxes. We also explained we had another location to go to. We had a 3-4 bedroom home truck.They packed so poorly that there was no room left to fit stuff in from our other location. We had to go and swap items out (heavier for lighter) for it was that day we had the extra help. That resulted in an extra day charge on the truck rental for us not to mention an entire day spent for my husband and I on moving things ourselves AND extra milage.Isn't that why we hired movers???? When we opened the truck at that location, our table and microvave fell out. Our one of a kind large picture was thrown in back and damaged. They ended up charging us almost $600 for a job that was specifically quoted $297. We asked al the right questions upfront, none the less, there were all sorts of "hidden" charges. When we explained we needed more room (which again had been explained on the phone and again the day of the move), that there was another location, we got attitude from the 2 younger guys who I beleive at that point re-shuffled our things which resulted in the damage I spoke of earlier. They packed those important boxes FIRST. Upon arriving at our new location after a long day of moving and working we had to un pack ourselves to get to those items. That meant the guys hired to unload had a pretty easy job since we had to do most of the unpacking our selves to get to those items. Save yourself the money- DO NOT US THESE UNPROFESSIONAL,RUDE THIEVES.Go through U-haul or similiar, they are great resources. BTW, the guys hired on the other side to un load were great. Summary: almost $600 spent in aggaravation, extra day of truck rental, extra milage,extra gas, extra moving day that we had to do ourselves,attitude, and damaged items.

Bad movers, bad management, BAD COMPANY!

We used this company to move to California in June 2008. The experience was horrible from the beginning to the end:

* crew in Boston came in with insufficient packing material, late in the afternoon. They had no interest whatsoever in packing things right, but only to get out of my place in a hurry. They ended up forgetting stuff and damaging things.

* crew in San Francisco was even worse - actually I don't even think they were BQM employees to begin with. They came in late, missed appointments, mounted stuff incorrectly and damaged my property. When I say what they were doing and tried to stop them cause more damage they threatened me to leave without completing the job!

* although insured after more than one year from submitting my claim BQM denied the reimbursement for the damages their crew caused asserting that their driver said they did not cause any damage.

Folks, STAY AWAY from these guys. They will come in, low ball the estimate to win the job, then come after you with additional fees later and send a bunch of unqualified workers with no supervision to do the job. I was stupid I feel into their trap - I hope I can save someone else from making the same mistake I did.

good movers BADDDD management

the company told me they were coming to move my apartment between 12-2pm. they didn't show up until 4ish and never called to let us know that they were going to be late. they miss estimated the time needed to move another apartment and they miss estimated the time required to move my apartment even though i told them repeated that it was on the third floor but they never took that into consideration.

after they moved us, i asked to talk to the manager. i politely explained the situation to Eli and asked if they could do anything. he pretended that he was a lowly worker at the company and couldn't make the decision when in fact he was the president of the company. he never apologized to me for being late and yelled at his movers through the phone. and i could hear him telling his movers not to put me on the phone. he was extremely rude and unprofessional over the phone. he treated his employees like slaves and his customers even worse.

• Cons: management is sleezy and non-responsive to customers

GREAT MOVERS!!!

I am the type of girl who looks for the hidden gems - the great price for great service. I had a feeling that this would be it in the mover world.

I emailed them through their website and They replied back really quickly. He was super responsive and we worked out all the logistics via email. We got the date set and I thought we were good to go!But at the last minute i had to change the date on my move!Fredy was super patient and understanding about the situation, which really impressed me. Luckily everything worked out .

The movers arrived with their truck. right on time At first, I panicked when I saw the truck and the hitch and doubted my stuff would all fit. Scott said that he based which vehicle I got on the list of items I included in that email. When he took a look at the stuff I had in my apartment, he reassured me that it would work.

And it did! They packed up my stuff so masterfully - everything fit just right. I have some big furniture pieces, so I was really impressed. And they unloaded everything into my new place really quickly. They took care of everything, with no scratches and such.

I HIGHLY recommend them. They were just a great service at an unbeatable price. The movers were so super chill and easy going, and they worked really efficiently. I've dealt with other movers in the past, and this, by far, is the best moving experience I have had and I will definitely use them again.

Very efficient and professional movers !!!!

This is a GREAT company. They were recommended by friends who used then a few times , they were accommodating, courteous and very reasonable in cost. The staff were engaging and they take really good care of the furniture wrap and pack everything for us and are careful to move around the premises.

They even did us a few favors by moving my old sofa from the atticc to the street . We have moved a few times in the past ten years and these guys were the best we've ever used! Don't hesitate one second to use this company!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

!!!!!DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY / SCAM ARTISTS!!!!!!

Not only have they lowballed the estimate (final bill was more then twice the estimated price), They showed up more then two hours late my window of arrival was 8am to 10am and the truck arrived at 12:50pm, and then had the nerve to charge me 45min. travel time from Allston to Cambridge. None of the movers spoke any English at all and was impossible to communicate with, they moved items I specifically asked not to, and placed furniture in the wrong places even tough I clearly marked the rooms.

At the end of this nightmare it took me and my wife about two more hours to move most items to the correct location, this is also when we noticed 4” hole in the stairways wall and deep scratches in the hardwood floors in a number of places around the house.

Our very expensive Ethan Allen furniture was damaged since it was not covered with moving pads, our liquor cabinet was significantly lighter and we were missing an I Pod.

We called customer service numerous times and never got a call back.

At this point we decided to cut our losses and just get on with our lives. We moved on September of 08 and never thought about posting a review online. Then I came across City Search and was encouraged to share our experience with all of you, if we spared even one person this nightmare it is enough of a pay back for us.

Boston Quality Movers is the worst company ever!

This company is horrible!!! I used them to move my Grandmother's furniture from Massachussetts to Texas and was told I would only have to pay approx 1800 dollars for the packing and moving. My brother signed the contract and we agreed on that price. It took over 3 full weeks for the stuff to arrive after calling multiple times and being kept out of the loop. When the mover finally called to deliver my items, he told me I would owe him 222 dollars more than what we signed for because some idiot in their office made a clerical error when adding! I was told I couldn't get my Grandma's stuff until we paid. When I called the home office to complain the salemwomen screamed at me stating I was trying to defraud the company by not paying the extra amount they were trying to charge. THEY BLACKMAILED US!!!! Also, the movers promised 2 different time to show up at my house and they never showed until the next day when I CALLED THEM to see where they where! When they finished moving the items into my house they tried to leave with some of our items still on the truck!! When confronted they finally gave me the items....how unprofessional...please I beg you not to waste your money on this fraud of a moving company!!!

Excellent and Professional Moving Service

I have recently graduated from college and needed a good price to move a considerable amount of items, though not as many as a typical move. The rates were reasonable and they took care of everything. The movers were on time and had everything secured on the truck promptly. They even held my plants! Next time I move I will use this service.

Outstanding Movers

I gave Boston Quality Movers a very short notice of my need to move. They were very attentive to my needs. On the day of the move, the movers showed up right on time and got right to work. My entire apartment was loaded into the truck in 45 minutes, and they paid attention to every detail, wrapping my furniture as needed, handling my breakable and expensive items with care as if it were their own. They drove non-stop from Boston to my new home in NYC, and were just as efficient unloading the truck as they were unloading. I would use them again any time I needed to move, they three men they sent me were fantastic !

Mixed feelings

Pros:

(1) The guy that answers might phone call was quite patient and seemed to be professional. Called on Friday to schedule a move on the next day and the response was quite promptly.

(2) Movers are quick and efficient

Cons:

(1) When I called them the first time we agreed to have the movers come by 3 pm but then after I paid the deposit (telling them the credit card #) and faxed back the signed service order form, they sent another one via email that changed the original 2-hour arrival window to a four-hour one, and starting from 3 PM ~ 6 PM. Later I found out they got a bigger order of the same day and they just postponed mine without calling me. They ended up arrived at almost 6 PM.

(2) During our first phone call they agreed to waive the floor charge, but the movers tried to charge it. I told the movers we had a deal and they seemed to be unaware of it. Later they charged almost two hours for back trip but it would take them only one hour to go back. When I pointed out that my original payment already included the back trip hours, they said the original fee was ?miscalculated?.

• Cons: Hidden fees; fail to notify delay. No contact on Saturdays.
