The best Yoga, hands down throughout Boston and surrounding areas. I have been to many studios and have never encountered somewhere like Inner Strength. Roman, his teachers and trainers are all experienced, motivating and well versed about the practice of Yoga and the overall health of your body. Throughout the hour and half class I attend three times a week Roman targets every muscle in the body to make it a complete workout as well as relaxing and rejuvenating. I have seen a positive change in my mood, alertness and overall sense of well being since finding Inner Strength. Roman and teachers make each class enjoyable while offering a calming sense before or after your busy day. The schedules are very convenient with class times available through out the day, two studios and other services offered like massage, acupuncture, herbal medicine and personal training. I would highly recommend Inner Strength, whether experienced or a beginner, they have it all.
Pros: All of the above
Cons: None

I've been going to Inner Strength for about a year now, mostly because it's very convenient for me. Many of the teachers are wonderful but others are more style less substance. I've often felt like I'm in some wierd version of boot camp yoga. And I agree with the comments regarding egos - I've occasionally referred to the owner as the Used Car Salesman of Yoga. It all depends what you want out of your yoga practice. If you want rock-hard abs and a bikini body, then most of the teachers here will be perfect for you. If you're looking to cultivate a meaningful practice on and off the mat that allows you to open to the grace of the universe, be selective about the classes you attend at IS.
Pros: Convenient location and times, parking, two studios
Cons: Drill Seargent Egos and Mentality

Hands down, Roman and the instructors at Inner Strength guide students through the best Yoga class to be had in Boston. It's been several years since I attempted a posture, however, I attended my first class on Monday and have been back 4 out of the past 5 days this week. Roman obviously has been influenced by various Hatha styles, Ashtanga, Iyengar, etc. and brings a high degree of pragmatic, focused intensity and positive energy to the class room. Exertion levels are high, but the rewards are great and benefits are immediately apparent. I've had back pain for months and after three days of class, it's gone. I've practiced Yoga at various schools and ashrams, including an intensive teacher's training course. This is the real thing and will be a refreshing break from "gym" Yoga for those just getting into a practice. It is apparent to me that Roman and others at Inner Strength practice a yoga life-style and teach in a compassionate and caring manner, consequently, I have not felt burdened by anyone's ego there to date. If you don't finish your first class wanting to return the very next day, I'll be surprised.
Pros: Parking, level of staff experience, authenticity
Cons: Absolutely none whatsoever

I was so excited to find out that Inner Strength has opened a second location! I had been to the Watertown location a few times and loved the classes but it was a bit of a hike for me since I work downtown. I found out a couple of weeks ago that they had acquired a studio in West Roxbury which is much more convenient for me. I tried a class out last week and it was wonderful. Same great atmosphere, beautiful space, and the instructor, Lauren, was exceptional. I left pleasantly fatigued and relaxed at the same time. I cannot say enough about this great studio and would definitely encourage anyone to try it out.
Pros: Lots of parking, closer to downtown, beautiful space
Cons: traffic, plan ahead

I think the atmosphere of the studio is wonderful, but that is about it. To own a yoga studio one should practice a yoga lifestyle. I don't think this is true of the owner. This studio has one too many egos for me to want to go there again.
Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Owner

This is a truly wonderful place! The classes are challenging, fun and will completely detoxify you. I have been practicing at Inner Strength for close to 2 years now and I love each and every class. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and have so much to offer. There are 2 studios available - both are beautiful - so classes are taught pretty much all day long. The cat is great, too. She is warm and friendly (much like the people at the studio) and her hair is hypo-allergenic. She's just another reason to come to the studio! Try it and you'll fall in love!
Pros: schedule, free parking, challenging
Cons: none, none, none

The staff, and the studio itself, create a haven where optimum health, strength and serenity are possible. A warm and welcoming vibe is palpable. Truly accomodating every physical need, Inner Strength provides knowledgeable and professional staff, both personal training and excellent class variety, also frequent workshops that educate all in working towards mutual goals. And 'the cat' is a sweetheart, and to me, her presence, though often not even evident, is very calming; obviously it depends on one's feeling towards cats, but she is rarely visible.
Pros: Kept very Clean, Great Equipment, Ample Parking

I have tired a number of yoga studios in the Boston area and Inner Strength is by far the best. Roman, the owner, is an incredible instructor. His flow is seamless as he transitions from one posture to another. He passes a test I have for instructors which is you should be able to move into a position by instruction only. If you listen to him you always know where your body is suppose to be. It's great for beginnings and advanced practioners. I haven't tried many of the other instructors so I can't say much about them. If you want a Flow Yoga experience you really should try one of his classes.

As a yoga slut (no lasting preference for any one studio) I never thought I'd settle down. I was looking for a perfect balance of spirituality, athleticisism, and community. At Inner Strength Roman has created a beautiful space (bamboo floors, natural light, great sound system, etc.) for power yoga classes. Rooms are heated, you do a lot of poses, and you sweat a lot. Classes are intense, but they ALWAYS leaves enough time for breathing or meditation at the beginning and end. I've been happily practicing at Inner Strength for about 2 years--longer than I've stayed faithful to any studio. What's kept me coming back is Roman's sincere effort to create an energized environment that continues to evolve to serve the community.

I enjoy this studio very much. It is comfy and feels like home. I have a cat at home so maybe that's why I like the studio cat. It's friendly, not aloof as a previous reviewer says-- known to plop down on your mat and do some asanas with you during class. Inner Strength is a great atmosphere and I like that Roman (owner) is always around, involved in teaching and getting to know the people coming to the studio. Good for folks with an ongoing practice on and off mat. Other than that, the studio offers personal trainers for weight training and it's a good place for bodywork as well.
