Great dance club
by over30
My friends and I love this club! We went last Saturday night and we had a blast. The music is good if you like a mix of 80s, 90s and contemporary. The club is full of people who like to dance so the party gets going early. You don't have a lot of people standing around until 11 o'clock at this club. It's a great place for singles to mix and mingle. I found the crowd to be a little more classy and polite compared to other clubs I have been to.
- Pros: good music, great atmosphere, fun crowd
- Cons: location is a little tricky, drinks are a litte expensive
I like Tequila Rain!
by starinureye
My girlfriends and I frequent Tequila Rain. We always have fun. Trying to get a mixed drink is a little annoying. If you want a beer though, they have those girls w/ the little stands placed around the bar. I recommend to get there a little early and get a good buzz on before it fills up or pre-game somewhere else. We like to go there cause theres never any drama!!!! The only thing is you have stupid drunk guys trying to grab you all night. Just deal w/ it. Other than that, its a good time!!!
- Pros: No Drama, Fun, Seperate stage for girls only
- Cons: Getting a drink, crowded dance floor
On a Friday Night
by pinkslips
Tonight was my first and last time at Tequila Rain. I only danced there so that's all I will review. The coat check was only a dollar! They have a fairly large dance floor but there were a lot of people wasting space just nodding their bodies in vague directions barely into the music. The majority of the songs were rock and top 30-60. I can enjoy rock and radio hits but, the selection tonight was sub-par for me. It kind of sounded like a school dance with less hiphop. I only really enjoyed less than a handful of songs. The song order was rough for me. The way the DJ went from one type of song to another just made me feel awkward. I did not really enjoy the crowd because I just felt no energy from them (probably because of the music) and I do not think they were enjoying their night all too much either. The patrons are not pretentious though. All in all the place is okay. It was less than average, I had some fun, and for me, it just is not worth going back to.
- Pros: $5 cover, $1 coat check
- Cons: Crowded, Just a bit dead in there...
i'd go again

there was a good mix of things to do. you can drink, dance, eat, play pool, bowl, relax and its only $5 to get in on the weekends.
Rude, Ignorant Bouncers
by realone
The bouncers are too agressive and hands on. I was there with a couple of my friends, we were in there for only 10-15 minutes when the bouncer punched one of my friends. When I talked to management about this issue... there comment was that they hire college students and they're aggressive. Which means these morons don't get any training and they handle patrons how ever they want to. And if your a person of color... don't bother to go in. Save yourself the headache. This place is for young white college kids that are clueless. I hope this place gets shut down. Lansdowne street bouncers on the whole are way too agrresive.
- Pros: nothing
- Cons: bouncers, weak drinks, bad management
The just-turned-21 set crowds Lansdowne's top all-purpose nightlife option to dance, watch sports and mingle.

The Scene
Promising "Spring Break 52 weeks a year," this multilevel drinking destination attracts young, hormonally charged students, especially during weekly Wet T-shirt and "Buff Body" contests. Red Sox game days find a slightly older crowd filling the circular booths (each with a personal TV) and tables on the outdoor patio. Service is provided by well-intentioned waitresses clad in jeans so tight, they look tattooed on.
The Draw
Tequila Rain offers an endless number of activities for the easily distracted. After filling up on Tex-Mex food and drink (smoked chicken quesadillas and frozen margaritas), many patrons stare intently at sports events on the city's only triple high-definition video wall. Others fill a subterranean dance floor regularly packed with energetic souls bouncing along to DJ-spun tunes. The Taboo Lounge attracts those looking to unwind, and students looking for a friendly game of pool.
Poor Dinner Service
by car3
It you like slow service...comparable to watching turtles race, then have dinner at Tequila Rain. I was highly disappointed at the slow service for dinner and drinks, and on a Monday night! My group (of 3) waited to be 10 minutes to be seen, then another 10 minutes for our first drinks, the appetizer order was forgotten about (which we placed with our first drink order) and the food took over 30 minutes. Not what you'd expect when you're only one of 7 other tables with guests in the entire restaurant.
- Pros: Good Chicken Sandwich, Good Captain and Coke
- Cons: Slow, slow Service
Watch Out
by bostonlife
Club seems to attract a lot of meatheads and the typically obnoxious just-turned-21 crowd. The bouncers could be a little more attentive. Dancing is almost impossible since the place is packed. To make things worse, most people on the dance floor are just standing there taking up space. Service is good though; our server was fast and attentive. The weekly contests and promotions are worth checking out.
- Pros: Location, Service, Contests
- Cons: Cover charge, Bad crowd, Crowded dance floor
Girls' night out
by giraffec1
My girlfriends and I went last Friday night, and despite a little bit of a long wait in line out in the cold (we were underdressed...) we finally had a blast! This place is all about having fun. The music was diverse, and the dance floor was packed. It was nice to hang with unpretentious people for a change! We are definitely going back!
- Pros: people, music
- Cons: long line
