The Scene
Both of Hilltop's suburban locations enjoy year-round, capacity crowds thanks to a dependable meat-and-potato menu and prices that are straight out of the '80s (a full steak dinner, including salad and potato, costs about $12). Faux-western dining rooms are usually filled to the gills with families (good luck finding a table away from the kids) and are efficiently patrolled by notoriously sour waitresses.

The Food
When the restaurant's full, with table after table covered in chopped sirloin and broiled ribeyes, one gets the impression it single-handedly keeps the beef industry in business (no one's actually ever been seen to order the steamed vegetable plate). Quality is not on the level of the area's finest steakhouses, but only the biggest steak snob finds fault with marinated sirloin tips or juicy, slow-cooked prime rib. Boring sides like bland rice pilaf and wimpy baked potatoes seem like afterthoughts, but at these prices, no one minds.

the steaks are ok, not as good compared to g23 and cap grille and all those. but a relic from the past and an area institution. long live citysearch!
