Finally the perfect salon

I have been searching for a place to have my hair done for a while now. I have been to many different types of salons in the Boston area and there are a lot. I have been searching for a place where I feel comfortable, like my own private "Cheeres" and I have found it. A woman named Kate was my stylist, and I gave her a little creative freedom which was a great choice. She took what I said and ran with it (and in a good direction.) I left the salon with the perfect shade of blonde, not too brassy and not too ashey. My hair cut was also a treat I wanted a cool bob, not too Victoria Beckham, and not too 'Mom Like", it was perfect. It suits my age and ability to style at home. Thank you Anita Kurl.

Ease, Convenience, and Awesome Results!

I have been searching for a new Salon since moving to the South End from the North End and haven't had any success, until now. I had been going back to the North End and it was very inconvenient. I am a fanatic about the "Do", so as you can imagine, I approach every Salon with a little trepidation. I called on a Sunday, spoke at great length and they made me feel very comfortable right from the start. I asked when I could come in and they said we can fit you in today, Derek would be happy to stay a little late if it's convenient for you. I arrived, they greeted me warmly, Derek was right on time, asked me a lot of fact finding questions, and we agreed to a definitive cut and style. He was the consummate professional and did everything and more that we discussed. I have a follow up appointment this coming week and am certain that i FINALLY found a home in the South End. My thanks go out to Derek and the entire staff at Anita Kurl for a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this wonderful establishment!

Great cut and color with fun atmosphere

Anita Kurl rocks! The stylists are great, fun and listen to what you want to do and work with you to find the best cut and color for your hair and lifestyle. The atmosphere is fun, great energy and everyone there is always happy and smiling. The location on Washington street is super convenient with tons of metered spaces as well as being close to public transportation. I am a commitment-phobe when it comes to stylists, but have found a great hair partner with Derek at Anita Kurl! Online booking and evening and Saturday and Sunday hours make it easy to find an appointment that works with your schedule.

• Pros: Sunday appointments, stylists always running on time, no pressure to buy products you don't need.

This little salon, can totally keep up with the Big Boys....not a beauty school drop-out in the bunch. The stylist's in this salon listen to what you want, but will honestly tell you when what you want won't work.... They are there to make you feel beautiful and that is exactly what they do!!! It's the best time you'll ever have with foil on your head!

Great Experience

Well I was nervous about getting my haircut at a new place, but it was just not practical for me to go to my old stylist anymore. I chose Anita Kurl basically because of proximity to my apartment (and the good reviews here). I was not disappointed, the people were very nice and extremely friendly. I had my cut done by the owner Amiee and was very impressed. She listened to exactly what I was looking for but her suggestions made my cut easier to style at home. Overall I the service was quick and cut was great. I will definitely be returning to Anita Kurl.

Best hair cut ever!!!

I had my hair cut at Anita Kurl yesterday for the first time, and it is amazing! I have very thick hair and I have been told it is very difficult to work with. The stylist sat down and talked with me for a good ten min. before I got shampoed, which was great because she could see what my hair was like dry. When I left there I felt great and I could re-create the stlye she gave me at home very easily this morning.

Rockport to Boston

Always giving back to the comunity. From wine tasting to a summer fashion show. This Columbus Ave salon is always happening. I drive from Rockport to Boston and it is well worth the trip. This award winning salon (Best of the South End) Shane (Best stylist) the rest of the staff and owner Amiee (Soon to be 1st time mother). They make you feel like family.

• Pros: Close to subway, Family atmosphere, highly qualified staf
• Cons: Parking, street only
