Joao is the best!. I read Joao's bio on the Will Charles website and I was intrigued by his name! He's portuguese (Joao is John in portuguese) and he is an extremely talented hairdresser. He was an artist before dedicating his profession to hair and it shows! He really listens and takes into account the shape of a person's face and features before recommending a style. Perfect for pampering!!. I had at a fantastic experience at Will Charles. For starters, I did use a groupon that for $65 gave you massage, hair masque, gloss treatment, and cut and blow out. The salon itself is on the second floor of Newbury so if you arent watching the numbers you can miss it all together. I recommend taking the T to Arlington - because it is literally a 3 minute walk from the t stop.

My stylist was Kerry Lee and she did an amazing job on my hair, which is long and extremely thick. I brought in pictures of Leighton Meester's layers and a few other pictures to convey how I wanted my hair. Kerry spent over an hour cutting the layers into my hair, alternating between blow drying and then cutting more. My hair looks and feels great and once I am able to afford a non-groupon price haircut I will return!…

It was not as amazing as I thought. I had a haircut at Will Charles after reading so many good reviews about this place. On the day I had my hair cut, it was done super fast, within 20min. My hair looked kind of OK, not amazingly great as others said. But next day I went to work, no one realized I had a haircut and within one week, my hair looked very dull and boring. best haircut ever. This place was fantastic in many ways. First and foremost they are excellent at cutting hair. I've tried lots of places and this is the best cut I've had in many years. In addition to doing a great job, Eric asked all the right questions: What are you looking for? How short? What kinds of styling do you do with your hair? Are you willing to put products in your hair? In the end, he created a haircut I love that's also low maintenance. Great! Amazing stylists without the newbury snobbery. I've been in Boston for a little over 3 years, and prior to going to Will Charles, had yet to find a hair stylist that I liked enough to go back to again. I had tried a handful of Newbury St salons, most of which were undeservedly over-priced. After hearing about Will Charles Salon from Groupon I decided to give it a try, but wasn't expecting much. Patrick cut my hair, and I was asking for a risky hair change that could have ended up disastrous given he had never cut my hair before. WOW, was I pleasantly surprised. He did exactly what I asked for and envisioned, and it was like he had been cutting my hair for years. I now have a super chic, stylish haircut that provokes nearly daily compliments and am more than happy to say that I've been back to Patrick....twice. I would pay more for his haircut and not think twice, but another great benefit is that haircuts are only $55.

Great hair, great atmosphere. Since Billy and Erik formed Will Charles Salon, the atmosphere at 11 Newbury Street has really turned around. I have been going to this salon for almost four years and the change is dramatic since Nino left. Everyone is so friendly and the place is so inviting.
